After watching fast Eddie’s interview on YT yesterday it’s plain as day that fury played along ....Sunday night announces to the world the Saudi fight is on and will make history on twitter and after Monday never says a word on fight or arbitration ruling and announces that he has signed to fight wilder again.......think about it a fighter that has just thrown a 90 million purse away and then sides to fight a trilogy fight and will earn no more than 30 million.
I wanted to see the Joshua fury fight because it settled arguments finally and we would finally have one champion but I think fury is happy fighting the B class fighters and has no intention of risking it against Joshua.
Bottom line is Joshua was 100% up for it and fury backed out.....that’s the bones of it.
As for Joshuas next fight that should be a massive fight in the U.K and should be a real challenge
Agree that it makes no sense, but the bones of it are that someone in Fury's camp didn't want the fight.

But then someone in Fury's camp didn't want the Wilder fight either, otherwise we wouldn't have gone down this path.

There's an allegation in Eddie's interview that the reason that Wilder won was that Fury's team were entitled to cancel the contract back in December, but didn't. ie they didn't formally notify.

If that's true then the whole thing is an absolute slam dunk. It was a con. But then who has seen documentation of the ruling?

Like I said in another thread I think that Arum just wanted Hearn to waste his own time, effort and money into trying to put this fight together when he himself knew it was doomed, though I'm sure he told Hearn the opposite. I've been harshly critical of Hearn in the past when he dragged his feet and was essentially the biggest roadblock to Joshua v Wilder back when that was the biggest fight in boxing, but as far as I can tell he hasn't done anything wrong this time - that is, except foolishly trust Bob Arum on his word.

Assuming both guys pull through their upcoming fights hopefully this fight can be salvaged at the end of the year, and by then it'll likely be able to take place in the UK at Wembley where it probably belongs. But the well has definitely been poisoned when it comes to negotiation now and something tells me that there'll be more spanners thrown in the works by then. Following this sport is nothing short of agonizing at times. I'm honestly moving to the mindset of just assuming that the truly big boxing fights that everyone wants will never happen and just exclusively follow matchups a rung down the ladder and lesser-known weightclasses where bloated egos and money are less likely to get in the way. That frontpage article about how boxing needs to take itself seriously struck a chord, more people need to take up that mindset and hold the sport to account.

I don't see how one can blame Tyson Fury. He is upset although maybe he didn't convey it that much online, but the blame can fall on Arum.

I can see how some blame Fury because of the injuries back then and pulling out of the Haye fight, but anyway I think he would've smashed Haye.

Fury is confident that he beats Wilder against and then gets the fight with Joshua, a delayed fight but not cancelled. I think that's how Fury sees things.

Who else are Fury and Joshua going to fight if they take care of Wilder (again) and Usyk?

        There's nobody else out there.

Hearns cried from the beginning that he was the only one putting in work to make the fight. Slandering Arum and Warren. What a moron! That's because Arum and Warren knew there were arbitration proceedings ongoing, and knew that there was a chance of Fury-Wilder III being enforced. The only one who ignored that, and went licking the toes of Arab princes, was Eddie Hearns. What an eejit! And now he cries about it and tries to blame other people when it was his fault all this happened. Should have waited until the arbitration was through. Funniest part is, they have to risk it all against Oleksandr Usyk now!

The sooner Bob Arum croaks it the better. Just a greedy power hungry American promoter along with Al Haymon who is killing boxing.

The rest of your post means that it wasn't slander. It's not slander if it's true.

Not sure how 'fault' can lie with the guy who did exactly what he said he would do. Fault for what? Fault for the undisputed fight not happening?

Fault for the fight not happening is very clear.

"[Fury's co-promoter] Bob Arum [of Top Rank] is aware of the work that has gone in to make this fight. And to just call up and say, 'I can't believe it, it's preposterous... and we're just going to go ahead with the Wilder fight, so cheers mate, thanks for everything and we'll catch up soon.'" - Eddie Hearn

You better know who you're dealing with! "And if you don't know, now you know!"

Stealing from a mexican drug lord would probably mean I come into more money than I've ever seen in my life. It would also make me unbelievably ****** for attempting it.

                  That's the point.

Yes. The fault lies with Eddie Hearn, trying to secure a fight for undisputed when Fury was in the middle of a contract dispute with another fighter.
