First fight maybe. But Wilder was out of opponents and Fury was in the abyss. Both needed it.

Second fight was ordered as an immediate rematch by the WBC, Fury walked away, fought twice more and then they finally got back to the ring.

The third fight isn't made yet, the fighters have been tied up in legal proceedings and it will be nearly 18 months that it's held up the division.

Easy to make?

Yes, once both parties decide they should fight, it gets done. The first fight was made without much drama. For the second fight, they both took a break to build up the profiles and hype. That is why it did so good numbers. The third fight would have been done by July if not for Covid. After that, yes Fury tried to wiggle his way out of it because the Joshua prospect was more lucrative. But once the order was made and it is decided they have to fight, it gets done in no time.

When did you see Arum or Finkle or anyone else keeps telling you it will be signed next week for 3-4 months? So, let me put it this way, AFTER they decide they will fight, it gets made straight away.

Like what is done on so many of these threads. This right here is why you never trust a word out of a promoters mouth. Their all habitual liars and won’t even admit to their BS when everything falls apart. I know Tevin Farmer is foaming at the mouth about how the JoJo Diaz fight fell through and now this ruling comes down. If you don’t want to fight again if declared the winner, don’t agree to a rematch in the contract.

Thats the common vernacular, and it is correct. More to the point, a promoter will do anything in the best interest of their charge because it benefits them and yes that includes lying. Thats how the system works. It is what we would expect... I got dinged with a car, I have been out 3 months so far, here is what I do not expect: My lawyer calls me up and says "Ya know... we could get 400k, but did you really need to kiss the pavement on impact? I think, to be fair, lets askfor 200k, even though you and my percentage will be less,its the right thing to do."

Why wouldn't Arum let Fast Eddie legwork a potentially greater financial gain for his client? It has nothing to do with being "fair" thats a hint.

There's a reason why Fury skipped out on the immediate rematch (Wilder had to obliterate Breazeale instead). He dodged a bullet and needed to give his head a rest.
The rules say that the discretion lies with the referee. Most would have called it off. That's all I'm saying. Fury was lucky it wasn't called off. I don't believe he'll be so lucky next time...

Can we agree what Fury did in the aftermath of the fight is utterly irrelevant as to what referee Reiss should have done when he was counting over Fury on the floor?

I disagree that most refs would have called it off. I think most refs would have been thinking in the first few seconds, this guy is knocked out, but then from the second half of the count it is clear he was right as rain to continue. I think pretty much all refs in that scenario, when he's beaten the count and affirmed he is OK to continue -- and looks fine to continue -- would have done the same as Reiss.

Where did you get 1.2m buys? The buy rate was 800k. Where they slightly broke even… So that isn’t really that successful.

9 out of 10 referees would have called it off the second Fury's head smashed to the canvas, especially the way it did. Few would have done what Reiss did, and waited for the count. If they had, I agree, they would have let him continue. But most would have screamed for the doctor and worried about Fury's health, as most people did who saw it live.
