Like, without Canelo, does plant even earn over 3 million a fight?

Spence earned 8 million guaranteed + ppv revenue against Danny G.
Danny G earned 5 million + a share of ppv revenue.
Crawford made 4 million for Brook and 5.5 million for Khan. (both guaranteed)

Plant doesn't even fight guys equal to Crawford's washed up, has-been opponents. Does he even make more than 3 million a fight to be getting anything near that range?

Seems like Canelo would give him the Mayweather treatment of, "You get a flat 10 million. I take everything else."

Does Plant even generate numbers for that matter? He's really one of these obscure talents even if "we" know of him. Casuals sure in the hell don't.
Eh. None of this reallllllly matters. I'm all for logic 99.9% of the time & in general I can respect your thought process with what Plant SHOULD get. Thing is logic gets thrown out the window first in negotiations. You stretch any edge or lean you can get. As the saying goes, "you are worth whatever you can get." Whats logical isn't the ceiling in a negotiation.

If guys just accept your offer than fair play & I get that plenty of boxing fans prefer it that way. BUT if they were in a similar situation themselves many would also go for the ceiling more than the floor with their purse I'm sure. And logical & previous purses only hinder you getting your max potential payday. Saying you want your real number x1.2 to x2 is a better way of doing that. And asking for green m&m's in your dressing room & 2,000 tickets is the move as well. You wanna tack on as many extras so that in negotiation they can be stripped away slowly or not at all to retain more value for you. Basically you don't go to the unsed car dealer saying you wanna pay ticket price. Mfers go there trying to save 2 grand, get a years worth of free car washes & drink a couple pots of free coffee even if they know they are only gonna save 500 & a couple coupons for 50% off a car wash probably.

      Maybe, Eff.

But how do we know that Caleb Plant might not be slicker than BJS, with less brittle bones and/or less quit in him?

We can't know for sure until it's settled in the ring. And luckily Canelo plans to do just that.

In any case having all 4 belts in a division leaves much less doubt than having just one. Hard to argue against that.

If these “euro bums” keep collecting these world titles Canelo is after then they will all get that ass whipping.

I'd rather see a Lara rematch at 160, too, than Plant.

When does the What If's stop doe. Maybe David beats both Caleb & BJS. Maybe some guy we ain't even talking about yet beats David, Caleb & Canelo. This is like giving kids 9th place trophies in a way in that you are assuming someone who's yet to show he can operate at a higher level than another guy has proved.

To me its all a matter of SOMEONE is the best today. And based on known evidence & fights that person is Canelo. And its been Canelo. The only question is when did Canelo become #1. For me was #1 once he entered the division with a W, but I think even if anyone disagrees you'd have to have him #1 once he white washed Callum, who many had as #1 off of his WBSS trophy.

We can't know for sure until it's settled in the ring. And luckily Canelo plans to do just that.

Sure, but in the meantime SOMEONE gots to be #1 unless your ranking guys like the IBF does where they got their top 10 or top 15, but #1 & #2 are often blank lmfao.

Me too, Lara would be a good one

You may think I am completely crazy but I would also add Terence Crawford to the list.

Add Bud in there too. Plenty to choose from. I wanna see some exciting fights, not Plant running around the ring.

I'd add Spence too but I do like Bud's style a lot better when facing a Canelo since he has a fantastic ability to keep pressure fighters off of him and just make them look embarrassing. I think with Spence if he can't overpower you he's in trouble.

If people don't believe me just compare the difference between Manny's ability to deal with Jeff Horn's pressure and Bud's ability to deal with his pressure. The difference is night and day, I do not care if you think the Pac fight was a robbery, Horn had ZERO success walking Bud down, putting him up against the ropes, landing anything. If Bud fights Porter I think it would be similar to the Kell Brook fight from years back, just blast him with the 1-2 all night from the outside and when he tries and get inside, tie him up.

Now I want to see a better challenge with Canelo.

Predamaged version, I'd have agreed. I still like Spence but I think he should wind his career down a little. Maybe get a soft touch once a year. Let the body rehabilitate.
