Now that the promoters run boxing programming, there is absolutely no shame.

I can’t wait to watch. Maybe the winner can unify with the IBO champion (which is now being pushed as a legitimate title by DAZN, if you haven’t noticed.)

He defended his WBA and IBF titles last month.

I'd rather the winner of this fight have one real belt and one fake belt than have the winner of this fight have one real belt and then have two bums fight for the vacant fake belt and call themselves a world champion.

This fight reduces the number of people walking around with a "world" championship belt and that's a good thing in my book, even if it's not a "real" unification.

I can’t wait for the WBA unification fight. That’s the one to really get excited for.

Well, theoretically the winner of this fight is supposed to fight WBO Champion Stephen Fulton.

So the winner of that fight would have the WBC, WBO, and WBA fake belts and could fully unify against IBF and WBA real champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev.

I don't consider this a unification bout. What I am excited for is the actual fight which is going to be a war and the winner facing Fulton in a REAL unification bout.

I don’t either but don’t tell that to Showtime and the media covering the event, who have all called it the WBC/WBA unification when it is not that at all.

I don't care what they call it, we know the deal. The fight itself is going to be a good one and that's what matters the most. And the winner is going to be in a real unification bout.

We’ll revisit this when we live in a world where it’s impossible to become the undisputed champion.
