    What risk did Wilder take?

Walking out to the ring in a heavy costume?

Canelo was willing to do what so few big names are- he willingly played 2nd fiddle to Floyd on a number of ppv cards when he really didn’t need to.

canelo could’ve been headlining cards but instead he jumped on those cards, expanded his base, took a fight with Floyd that was huge, and reaped the rewards.

Expand your base, fight top guys, keep winning.

If im Andrade I’d have been positioning myself as the semi main on all of canelo’s cards.

He fought a guy 60 pounds bigger than him! Every fight he took he was badly badly outweighed and still knocked out every opponent he faced, when has Canelo ever taken that kind of risk?

But he's a heavyweight. That's what heavyweights do. That's hardly taking a risk.

He probably means the twerking because I can't think of a fight he took that he was the underdog, also Loma has never been an underdog in any of his fights.

canelo has "paid the cost" to be who he is...i was never a huge canelo fan but the more people hate on him irrationally the more i tend to gravitate towards being a fan

reminds me of peak 2009 floyd vs manny...i loved both guys and even went to see pac fight live twice in 2009...but the more pac fans that irrationally hated on floyd made me gravitate towards him...

stop thinking its all about who he fights too.....i remember back when floyd fought ortiz we got the ppv at my ex gfs parents house...her mother knew nothing about boxing but was more intrigued by the mexican ginger on the undercard....canelo has the appeal of the mexican fanbase as well as being a rarity....it also doesnt hurt hes traversed many classes and collected belts

hell forever be hated on by many because he tamed their legendary hero and made him look less than amazing

agreed...i just posted about that ortiz/floyd ppv...watched it at my ex gfs parents house....her mother was intrigued by watching a mexican ginger...moreso than the main event....

many people downplay the working relationship between schaeffer and haymon...it had as much to do with canelo being a star as anything....they played that whole thing perfectly and catapulted canelo and then canelo took it from there

Reminds me of don king who would put Chavez on a Tyson card even though Chavez easily could carry a card on his own.

People forget this used to be the norm. I think a even Roy v bhop 1 was a semi main on a hwt fight.

Dude you've got to be kidding. It wasn't that long ago Canelo was the 155lb champ fighting Amir Khan lmao

What about Terence Crawford? Has he taken any risks?
