I have to ask: where did Canelo get all this punching power from?

GGG was ur favorite. But as even Steve Kim lately admitted that he was a GGG diehard but then lost interest in him then I’m not surprised with ur change of tone

Most of these guys aren’t even close to getting stopped lol. They just down want to exchange with Canelo because he’s too accurate and defense to good as well as good punching power. He’s also throwing single shots more now instead of combos like he used to when he was younger. Watch his training, he emphasizes putting everything into single hooks and uppercuts

Canelo has always been a counterpuncher. Now he is sharper and when fighter can hit him and get hit good they reduce their output. He is not draining himself and he trains well. It is not like you never hear about a broken orbital bone or other broken bones in boxing. The punches he landed against BJS were well placed and hard because of his accuracy.

To answer the original question everything that needed to be said has already been said (bigger weight, better timing/technique) but it ain't just his power that has improved, his head movement is just unrecognisable from earlier in his career & his footwork and the way he cuts off the ring is levels above where it was. Canelo is a legit superstar & he's still improving - don't question it, just enjoy watching it.

Some dude was claiming the other day that Canelo wears some dodgy gloves and the padding is pretty much non-existent.

No idea if it's true or not, maybe Thuglife Nelo knows more!

He's 30 now and 168 is the perfect weight for him to maximize his power. Always been a good puncher, but he's just maturing and is very accurate. That shot on BJS wasn't as much about pure power as it was about timing and accuracy.

Canelo has a different style now, he's made his own style, it's really hard to beat right now.

Try to rewatch the fights objectively you'll see ggg won maybe 6-7 rds 1st fight(depending on how you score swing rds) You act like ggg schooled him,ggg was landing jabs Because Canelo was sacrificing him landing jabs as long as Canelo hit him w power shots in return.(gggs shots were sloppy w lil behind them 80% of the time)

Gggs face after both fights proves my point,he also despite his fans claims of robbery, fired his entire team, changed his name, ran outta ring crying & bleeding,& hired a slick brotha style trainer,& abandoned mexican style he fakely used to claim was his style & the only way to fight without being a coward.

Sure sounds like something winners do huh?(he also has gone onto become worse cherrypicker, ducked the 3peat & now does 2 weeks vada for all his fights
I wish I could watch the fights with u to see if you're serious. GGG dominated the rematch in the second half. He dominated the last 5-6 rounds. It was more clear than the first.

He always had punching power, but he was weight drained at 154. At 160 he struggled with GGG who has a granite chin. At 168 I think he has finally settled into his ideal weight. The punch he landed on BJS was a combination of the punch and Billy leaning down into the punch. There has been a lot of speculation of PED use in the past, and who knows what goes on now?

If you look at his body type, mesomorph, he has a thick frame that carries a lot of muscle. He has natural strength that is enhanced by working out and fitness. He is also a good combination puncher, which is what opens up the opportunities for the KO.

But then you have to ask these questions. If he was so weight drained at 154, why do Canelo fans always talk about how he's such a small middleweight? Why did Canelo use the excuse to vacate his belt and avoid GGG the first time that he wasn't a middleweight? Why avoid a big money fight with GGG, at a weight class you are saying Canelo is more comfortable at, to completely drain yourself, deplete yourself of all that power, risk you health and getting sick, all to fight nobodies like Khan, Kirkland, Smith?? He could have fought Cotto for his MW belt at 160, but Canelo team insisted the fight be at 155. Why drain yourself like that if you don't need to?

One last question. If Canelo always had better punching power at a higher weight and the only thing holding him back was draining to 154, then how come he couldn't hurt Chavez Junior AT ALL at 164? This was right after Chavez Junior kept getting hurt and dropped and KOd by the "Polish Prince", Andrew Fonfara. Now, 4 years later, Fonfara doesn't have anywhere near the power of Canelo. Remember Fonfara got brutally KOd by Joe Smith, couldn't hurt him at all in round 1.

To be fully clear, I do not know if Canelo Alvarez is using PEDs. 5 years have now passed since his positive test. This is the statue of limitations and you can no longer say he is guilty based on that offense. Innocent until proven guilty. But this does not mean you can't ask questions.
