Floyd outjabbed Canelo, as every fighter does.
But there were rounds were they landed the same amount of power punches on eachother.
Rounds 1-3, both fighters landed 2, 2, and 4 power punches each, respectively. Floyd outlanded Canelo in jabs in all 3.
Round 4, Canelo outlanded Floyd in power punches by 2 (8 to 6). Floyd outlanded Canelo in jabs.
Round 5, Canelo outlanded Floyd in power punches by 1 (8 to 7). Canelo also outlanded Floyd in jabs, strangely.
Round 6, Floyd dominated Canelo in both jabs and power punches.
Round 7, Floyd once again dominated Canelo in power punches and jabs.
Round 8 was back to both landing around the same, 13 to 11 in favor of Floyd. Floyd outlanded Canelo in jabs 15 to 1.
Round 9 was clearly won by Floyd.
Round 10 was won by Floyd but they landed around the same power shots, 8-10 in favor of Floyd.
Round 11 and 12 Canelo outlanded Floyd in power punches. Floyd outlanded Canelo in jabs. Again by a wide margin, 24 jabs to 3 between R11-12.
These numbers are just numbers, yes. But looking at the fight, the fight depicted a points scoring fight as the numbers suggest, the "dominating" performance was based on the amount of jabs Floyd landed and the amount of punches Floyd made Canelo miss.
Total numbers show Canelo was busier, and landed way less. Mayweather threw less, and landed way more. Landed double what Canelo landed. Floyd, as usual, was landing at 50%, which is ridiculously high. Canelo's accuracy on the other hand, was terrible, landing at 20%. Part of this was because Canelo was throwing more, was busier. Floyd looked better because if he threw 10 power shots, he lands 5. Canelo looked bad because to land 5, he had to throw 25. So even when Canelo outlanded Floyd in power punches, he looked "bad" because of the amount he had to throw to outland Floyd, and the amount he missed. But dominance is not all about making your opponent miss. If you make your opponent miss 80% of the time, you're going to look good. But what if your opponent is outlanding you or matching you in punches landed? That's not dominating imo. Floyd outpointed Canelo. He clearly won. That's as far as one should go. The label of "domination" should not be diluted and pasted on every clear points win.Comment

It's not his fault. But it's not just that the fans don't support him it's that the networks don't promote him or give him the same type of respect they give to Canelo.Comment
