  • That's All We Were Asking for From Canelo

My criticism of him was because he intentionally fights fighters with a style tailor made for him. And his best wins are in controversial fashion.

In this fight he stopped, brutally injured in fact, a fighter with solid foot speed, head movement and defense, a style that had always given him trouble in the past. With no controversy.

Tonight's fight Canelo earned his p4p spot for me.

Bud will gain it back on my list if he beats Porter or Spence.

But for now Canelo is #1 and Bud needs to step it up.

Yep. He gave away rounds while reading Saunders bizarre movements then later used it to make Saunders move into a brutal punch to his eye. Great stuff.

Yes, doesn't impress me when he beats on stationary targets like he's fought since the Lara fight, but when you make an adjustment like that against a guy winning rounds against you like that, that's what I call a good win.

I thought you said BJS was trash, therefore it wouldn't mean much to Canelo.

Honestly man I thought BJS was gonna be the guy to pull it off. Now my money's on Plant. He's another slick fighter, and I always thought he was better than BJS. Now my question is whether he has the chin/heart to actually execute it.

You have to be willing to take some brutal shots if you're going to beat Canelo and I don't see Plant as that guy. Didn't get dropped a few times by Uzcategui or someone? Even if he did, he doesn't get hit much, but when he does get hit, he gets hit very flush. That's bad against Canelo.

He saw the uppercut being there on film and he landed it several times, but I think he was waiting for that exact mistake BJS makes when he turns to the left in place after missing a punch. That was a brutal punch. People think a head snapping punch is brutal, but the worst damage is done when the head doesn’t snap back and act as a shock absorber. This was one of those and as soon as it landed the damage was instant visually. I said right then he broke something. And Canelo knew it too.

              - -Nice to see you Lady Laras and Gypsy Queens give a little overdue credit. Maybe one day you learn how to score a fight...

Man it’s crazy just now in the post fight presser Canelo said (in English) “My only goal tonight was to impress TerranceBudCharlo on the NSB forums. His respect means more to me than being undisputed at 168. I can now finally get a good nights sleep.”

You'll never convince me that he beat Lara or GGG. Again all I was waiting for from Canelo was for him to beat a high quality opponent whose style presented some difficulty for him, bounce back from adversity, make the adjustments and win without controversy. He didn't that tonight so I can't hate anymore. Well, I still think the drug test and his excuses are ridiculous, but forgetting about that he's #1 on my pound for pound list. Crawford has to beat Porter or Spence to take it back.

I mean no but why wouldn't you want to win critics over? I'm a nobody but there has to be plenty of big name Canelo critics who liked what they say tonight.
