Hamed got dropped in his first defence, hammered against Medina, tagged against Johnson, dropped multi times by Kelly, looked terrible against McCullough, Ingle and Soto.

He only looked good when he fought European/domestic level fighters but when he stepped up to World class he started getting hit a quite a lot, they were capitalizing on what he was getting away with, with lesser fighters.

Itll have been more to do with losin his 0 than takin a beatin! Barrera didnt give him a beating he just outboxed him! he took a lot more of a beating from sanchez or kelly! If he tried to give him a 'beating' then he;ll have probably got koed like the those 2 fellas did

Boxing def misses Hamed. Entertainment-wise he's up there with Roy Jones Jr, Whitaker, Ali...you just couldn't get enough of those guys in their primes. What is more special is that they each had they're own way of entertaining the boxing fans.

he quit b/c he was humiliated by MAB. He tried fighting one more time but but found out he never recovered his confidence, mojo, chutzpah, from the MAB loss. Rather than be a true champion & try to overcome from that loss & he decided to pack it in.

MAB emasculated him. it was his biggest fight, he was undefeated, in his 1st fight in vegas & his elaborate entrances & that islam shout out, then fight happend.......

He could never recover from that emotionally & spiritually.
good post. i can believe that he may had a brittle hand but i wont believe its the only reason why he quit

                You got my thumbs up.

Hamed belongs to the best featherweight fighters. Good luck on your retirement and thank you for the fun to watch memories.

Naz was the man when he was on game. I think him and Julian Jackson were the hardest punchers I've seen. His fight with Auggie Sanchez and Kevin Kelly were classics.

I remember after Floyd beat Corrales he called him out. Merrchant said Floyd he won't fight you, lol.

To bad we didn't get to see him against Morales and Marquez.

he retired cuz Barrera made him look like he shouldnt have ever been in the ring...completely embarressed his ass..And im glad he did. Nas fought dirty..threw vicious elbows..tackled some..flipped some over..i remember 1 guy hitting the table with his head from a takedown and the ref made him get up and fight..no 5 min recoup time or anything.FUUUCK NAS!
