Canelo has had trouble with guys who can box. I think Billy Joe has a chance. To me the Austin Trout fight, despite it being some time ago for Canelo, is instructive. Trout was able to challenge Canelo who still to this day fights in the pocket. Billy Joe is a slick Southpaw with reach and does not need to be able to KO opponents to win this fight. Like with Trout, I doubt the judges give it to Sanders unless he literally decapitates Canelo, lol... But I could see a repeat of the Trout fight. Canelo is a great puncher, but could have problems if he cannot counter BJ...

People say those giving BJS a chance are just basing it all on the Lemieux fight. Have people on here actually seen the Lemieux fight?
No, Lemieux isn't Canelo. But BJS wasn't just good, he was brilliant. And I suspect we'll see a better BJS this weekend.
His best performance was against his best opponent. Maybe that continues.
We all know how good Canelo is. I don't think anyone knows how good BJS is.Comment

Using Lemieux as a measuring stick for Canelo has absolutely zero merit. That is BJS absolute best win too, after that the best name on his CV might be an inexperienced Eubank Jr!People say those giving BJS a chance are just basing it all on the Lemieux fight. I hear what you're saying though, and there are some slight unknowns... I just think the clues are in what Saunders team are moaning about - ring size, judges and a crowd being in attendance!
BJS is looking to stink the joint out... The blueprint will be Fury Vs Wlad imo - just make his miss, don't make him pay and try point score for 12 rounds amateur style.
I think this could be like Junior Witter Vs Zab Judah...Comment

Lemieux was B grade, fair enough. But I'm talking more about what BJS can do. He was 12 rounds better than the best guy he's faced. We can't know his limits.

I wouldn't read too much into the moaning. They know what they're doing. A bit of controversy, a bit of mind games. BJS is dumb enough and arrogant enough to just not care what anyone thinks of it.
Honestly, I think BJS will go into this believing he can make Canelo look ******. He might end up looking ****** himself, but don't expect any fear from him. The guy has zero self awareness.Comment

BJS can box and will likely take some early rounds while Canelo feels him out. The pressure will take its toll as I agree Billy has absolutely nothing to keep Canelo off of him. My guess is Billy is hoping to bank enough early rounds to make the cards close but it’s hard to see Billy pot shotting on his bike winning much against Canelo in Texas. I’m expecting lots of movement and showboating to try and sway the judges. If it’s even close enough to argue that Billy got robbed that’s as good as a win for him.Comment

It was also 5yrs ago thats a LONG time in a fighter career, anyways according to Tom Saunders the fight is off which would be ridiculously unprofessional and nobody will give the Saunders team the light of day if he spits the dummy and fly's home.People say those giving BJS a chance are just basing it all on the Lemieux fight.
