Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised to see BJS to win most of the early rounds. It will be the second half of the fight that will be interesting.

The thing is Canelo is not a high paced pressure fighter in the sense he throws a lot of shots. He’s pretty selective with his work and hasn’t shown a great stamina when he’s needed a higher work rate.

If Canelo finds him self losing early rounds, He’s really going to have to fight with an intensity that he doesn’t like to.

The worst thing you can do is let BJS get into a rhythm and comfortable, Especially if you’re not a fighter that can start to pile pressure on and throw insane amount of shots per round to try and turn it around.

The funny thing is everybody says Canelo has improved since he fought Lara, That maybe true but which slick Southpaw has he fought since then? He hasn’t, and there is no evidence to suggest he can deal with that style any better than he could. Everybody has styles they have problems with.

I think it’s a great fight and it will be a very high quality performance from both fighters. If Canelo struggles for a few rounds, I think he’s in trouble.

Good post. I can imagine BJS dancing on the outside for most of the second half of the fight if he feels like he's up on the scorecards. A bit like Sunny last weekend. I don't think Canelo has fast enough feet to catch up with him if he fights like that. Obviously he'd need a substantial lead.

Edit: Canelo needs to win enough of the early rounds that BJS feels like he needs to press the action in the later rounds. He's needs Saunders to come to him. I really feel and upset here.

I was thinking about a possible upset myself, then remembered how Saunders looked like shìt against much lesser opponents.

After that, I recalled how many people there were who predicted Callum Smith to do a number on Canelo.

Finally, I envisioned Saunders caught by an "Amir Khan Special" shot. Perhaps it won't happen, but I'd love that ending.

Boxing doesn’t work like that though. They all said fury had no shot against Klitschko, Because he hadn’t looked great against lesser fighters. They are very similar fighters in terms of performing much better against better opponents.

On Saturday you will finally see how good Saunders really is and Canelo won’t be able to beat him. Mark my words. I honestly can’t wait.

Also Saunders has a granite chin and never been down as an amateur or professional. Canelo isn’t really a big puncher. The only people he stops are faded fighters like Kovalev, Overmatched opponents like Fielding and guys like Kirkland that got knocked out quicker by a Japanese journeyman. Even Eubank Jr did a more devastating job on Yildirim.

Cannelo never looks like stopping any real decent level opponents who aren’t shot to bits or low level. He could hit Callum Smith at will and couldn’t put him down. He couldn’t put Jacobs down even up fighters like Sergio Mora did, Jacobs hasn’t the best chin.

Absolutely no chance Canelo stops him, certainly not with one shot like you suggest.

Billy was hired by Canelo to get beaten up and ko'd so his Mexican fans will be happy.

This will be easy for Canelo, he's not Lemieux

what are you getting for odds? just keep in mind that saunders will need to really walk away with it to beat canelo on points. he doesn't have the most eye catching style with his punches and in terms of aggression he's not going to be coming forward or making the fight. those are the two things judges look for the most and what they can rely onm if they need to justify a suspect card.

I've been out of the boxing loop for a while but I'm seeing so much hype in the comments on social media about Canelo by KO/TKO. Seriously!? Canelo, the guy who got schooled by Lara and Floyd. The guy who couldn't put JCC Jr away?? BJS has more than a chance. In fact I've got him by an easy UD but.. for obvious reasons I see him getting robbed.

You know, I remember some years ago, people speaking in absolutes, saying that Canelo would never fight Callum Smith because Smith would stop him.

I also remember people speaking in absolutes saying that Chris Algieri would outbox Errol Spence.

Absolutes of people saying that Manny would knock out Jeff Horn.

Speaking in absolutes is a funny thing, really.

                    So how about this.

I'm 95% confident that Billy Juice Saunders takes a clear L, courtesy of the WBC Carne Franchise Champion.

As in, you will question whether he even really trained and I'm sure NSB will scream crooked judging.

The fact that it's in Texas, a Canelo stronghold, means Saunders best chance at victory is a decisive knockout. No chance of that happening. But I can see Saunders frustrating Canelo with the histrionics, to the point that he gets him out of his game.

That leads to Saunders schooling Canelo to the point that the judges can't risk a robbery, and he gets a SD victory.
I agree, Saunders is fast handed and fast footed but the biggest problem he has is he HAS NO POWER. Canelo WILL NOT RESPECT HIM. He’ll chase him the whole fight trying to kill him. Saunders will look terrified. BORING fight. Put a real fighter in their like Benevidas.
