  • Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz: Here To Watch Ruiz-Arreola, Look Forward To Fighting The Winner

Luis Ortiz has traveled across the country to support his stablemate as well as scout his next potential opponent. The top-rated heavyweight contender will be among the evening's most interested observers inside Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. A 10-fight event is topped by a heavyweight crossroads clash between former unified titlist Andy Ruiz (33-2, 22KOs) and three-time title challenger Chris Arreola (38-6-1, 33KOs), which airs live Saturday evening on Fox Sports Pay-Per-View.

So team Ortiz claim they are next in line for the winner? I would be ok with that. Ortiz vs Ruiz most likely. Heck I’d be ok with Arreola vs Negron on the undercard.

That will be good but I want to see Ruiz vs Wilder.

There I was thinking they'd roll the old man out for Wilder to KO again.

Wow. He's waiting for the winner of tonight's fight.
Which means he'll wait for another 6 - 9 months before the winner is ready to get back in the ring.
It's been six months since Ortiz's last fight with a meaningless scrub. So he's ready for a year looong layoff.

Can't this clown at least fight Charles Martin or Kownacki while waiting?

Completely agree. He should fight the loser honestly. Not really fancy on seeing this fossil fight the winner

It's not about fighting the winner. It's about waiting for another several months as if he's in his 20s.
His last fight was in November last year. Will the winner expected to go back in the ring in just weeks?

you have alot of nerve calling any man a clown let alone ortiz..lol....let me guess youre a wilder hater? a haymon hater? so by virtue of that you hate on ortiz? lol...ortiz vs ruiz would be a good fight that many would be interested in....haymon has made wilder, ruiz and ortiz alot of money in a weak USA boxing market.....the fact that this all bothers you so much amuses me greatly

                  youre a sad little boy

Not sure your point, honestly. The man has about 2 years left in his body. If he can extend that to 3-4 years by fighting sparsely, what is exactly the problem? He is not a title holder, he is no one's mandatory. There is zero harm in a long time pro like Ortiz who knows how to prepare for a fight being inactive. It might hurt his earning power some, as an active fighter is more interesting. But Ortiz as a back up plan for Ruiz if the Wilder fight does happen makes total sense and Ortiz resting his body hurts that fight not one little bit.
