my vote goes to Wlad, guy hasn't done anything in years but still people expect him to be champ, guy has no heart...and for that same reason, a close second is Lamon Brewster

I agree with you on this one. Brewster is more of a fraud than an overrated fighter though.

Not sure, i thought i recalled his name being mentioned in Top 10 conversations. Maybe he should win the "Most Overrated by Themselves" :-) THEN he wins for sure!! :-)

His stock has bottomed out since his last few fights, he could hardly be considered overrated now, I think.

Byrd would be my initial pick as "overrated"...he's a title holder with a good record, but here again, anybody who knows boxing knows he's not a serious heavyweight, just a slick fighter who's made a place for himself in the division, so even he probably isn't overrated.

I'd have to pick Samuel Peter as the most "overrated", if you want to be particular about the term. He's barely a prospect, yet been talked up everywhere, both on TV and on every boxing forum, but the guy is slow, has a very low work-rate, and is FAT. Yep, he has a big punch, but little else, and he'd be a punching bag for any title holder but Byrd, and I'd probably even pick Ruiz to beat Peter. If he were to get rid of the spare tire, do some roadwork, and improve his arsenal and skills he could be something, but for now he's highly overrated.

I could not disagree more. Chris Byrd is one of the most underrated fighters in boxing. He has been an excellent fighter for a long time, and has been no where near a p4p list.

Yes, he is an excellant boxer, but he just doesn't have the size to be highly effective at heavy. He should be a light heavy, or cruiser, if he could get down that far. He's a really slick fighter, hard to hit and has great feet, but just doesn't pack the punch he needs as a heavy, which is why I say that, as a heavyweight, he's overrated, at least on paper. In reality, though, I think most know that he's not in the running to be holder of a unified title and undisputed champ.

Correct. Not at the moment. Rahman has a decent chance at beating Klitschko. He could have 2 belts by beating Rock however;.

Not to mention, If Byrd fought Ruiz, I would bet 400k on that fight.

Chris Byrd isn't the most overrated, the guy has faced some pretty decent big guys, and hasn't lost (*cough*fix*cough*). Sure he's a bit overrated, but he's very skilled. There's plenty of more overrated heavys than Chris (I could be bias cuz i met the dude, and was impressed that he wasn't that big. Heck, even Vasily was bigger, so I'm impressed he's been winning as a heavy for so long)
