Can we be honest about Canelo scorecards

So there's this narrative that Canelo should have multiple losses and that he always gets favorable scorecards but I don't see that being the case (sans the draw on the Mayweather fight lol).

Canelo had one judge scoring against him on the Lara fight...a fight that he clearly won imo...
Canelo had 2 judges giving him 115-113 scorecards on the Jacobs fight...if he lost one more round that fight would've been a draw
On the GGG fights, one judge scored against him, and on the rematch, a fight he clearly won, a judge scored it a draw
Canelo was beating Kovalev's ass and one judge scored it a draw and the other 2 had him winning by only 2 points

So im not sure where there's this narrative that you can't ever beat Canelo on the scorecards because the only fight he really lost was Mayweather

Canelo has never been given a gift decision, where he didn't deserve to win and the other guy got outright robbed.

Even the first Golovkin bout was super close and a draw is a completely legitimate result.

The "Canelo scorecards" narrative is bullsh*t. Lazy thinking from people who are just looking for an excuse to hate him.

Nonsense, there’s no way he deserved a draw in the first GGG fight. GGG won that. Almost nobody said Canelo won or drew except a handful of Canelo fans and his team .

apart from that I agree. I don’t agree when people say he got a gift v guys like Lara. I actually had it a draw but don’t mind giving it a round to Canelo. But let’s be real, There is no way it was going to be given to Lara, despite it being close, that’s what bothers people.

Definitely agree. It's a fun joke & I think there is a Canelo lean, but every name from the biggest to the guy who draws crowds at local club shows gets a lean. I've said "robbery" too *******ly myself at times if I had a guy winning a close fight on my card, but the reality is if it's a close fight there is usually some wiggle room to either guy winning.

            All those were close fights.

And I had the first Canelo vs GGG fight a draw. And I think that's reasonable take not Canelo stan bs. And fook I had GGG winning the rematch, but thought it was close, 7-5, so it's hard to argue it can't go the other way with so many competitive rounds.

Hell the Danny fight was probably closer than it shoulda been tbh. I thought Canelo was racking up rounds in that fight, but Danny easily could eeked out that fight if he'd just pumped the gas a lil more. And Canelo was not doing THAT great on the cards vs Kovalev.

Yeah, that jacobs fight was getting closer by the end, Canelo was starting to fade a bit in the second half.

had Jacobs managed to win a few early rounds, he might’ve lost a robbery. But to be fair, Canelo boxed excellently for the first half of that fight.

Canelo drops plenty of rounds against good opposition and barely looks like hurting most. This forum would have you think he’s going in and shutting everyone out 12-0 or putting them to sleep.

C'mon now. Are you posting from his training camp? He clearly lost the first ggg bout and I thought he got lucky as all hell with the lara decision.

Well when Canelo looks good he does look really good so I get the spin, but I think he's always carefully navigating his stamina during rounds so fights are more competitive than they would be if he didn't have stamina problems. The power is definitely over hyped.

To speak on the first GGG fight specifically I remember Canelo looking great during most head to head back n forth exchanges, but they just happened so seldom at times that GGG was winning rounds off of what Canelo wasn't doing more than what GGG was doing on my card. It felt really pronounced in that first fight that Canelo was taking parts of rounds off or getting a breather or two in basically. I think he's gotten slicker with that since then & it doesn't look so obvious when he does it now.
