Easier to rip off DAZN execs than consumers with garbage PPV's. DAZN will overpay and lose money until they pull an HBO and say "no mas no mas".

DAZN has currently zero presence and a small amount of subscribers in the UK why would the UKs 2 genuine Sky PPV attractions AJ and Whyte sign up unless the deal was massive

it would be great if all the promoters can get slots on sky in the future like they used to. We'd see less bias reporting on sky sports news and it would raise the profile of so many boxers in the UK. But only as long as sky don't pull the plug on boxing altogether.

I already pay sky sports for the football so now u have to pay EXTRA for DAZN and then even EXTRA for PPV fights!! Oh HELL NAH!! Screw eddie screw DAZN!
if you were able to set your BoxingScene account, you'll be more than able to subscribe to DAZN. It's easier. Oh, and NO delicious PPVs. Now come back in half-year time and tell me how happy you are.

It could work if they get a deal with MTK and also that new Sauerland partnership.

plus if they can keep AJ on the platform, then that helps.

it’s still a big loss though for sure, they’ll be losing a lot of names that the casuals watch like Chisora, Benn, Buatsi, Warrington etc..

Whyte could still fight on DAZN. It’s just he’s not exclusive to anybody and works fight by fight with Hearn. So I imagine they will play that by ear.

Even AJ, the only reason they have to say he’s not part of the package is he’s still got some fights left on the sky contract. When that runs out, then it’s still possible he can jump ship too. DAZN aren’t shy about paying good money.

As it stands, Sky probably going to end up like boxing on BT that doesn’t attract many casual fans because they’re not recognisable names, except for the odd fight here and there.

So AJ and Whyte will still be on PPV but other than that its DAZN?

The price for DAZN is great but is it really sustainable? and tbh even at that price point how many people in the UK are going to subscribe to it if it doesnt have AJ on there?

Are they gonna have football on there? 99% of UK boxing fans are casuals looking for something to watch after the last football game finishes on a saturday night. Put boxing on a separate app and they won't pay for it all year round. I mean that idea is basically the exact same thing as boxnation, which failed.

End of an era, but this was pretty much expected....I just thought Hearn would keep Sky Sports involved in some capacity to have two network deals. Maybe DAZN did not allow that.

So does Sky continue showing boxing going forward minus the occasional PPVs? If so, which promoter(s) links a deal with them?
Saureland ? ( or whatever their rebranding name is)
