You seem to use yourself as a metric of measurement regularly which is a bit sill you aren't some authority on anything. Also we are talking about total number of eyes watching the sporting event and it's almost always dramatically more people watching the boxing events that is the point 26 million homes watching canelo fight some no name in mexico andn how many people in each of those homes? you are looking at a minimum of 50 million people the numbers are dramatically more than those MMA manages.

Wrong this was before DAZN rolled out globally these are just US numbers not sure why you attempted to assume the worst? they have not yet started to release Global numbers but all of Canelo's fights have been surpassing 1 million views on PPV

It's not one country we've spoken about China, We've spoken about Mexico, We've spoken about the Philippines we haven't mentioned germany and we've spoken about the UK in all of these nations The UFC pales in comparison to Boxing even in the US the numbers are very close to even. UFC had a rapid expansion at one point and even that has slowed to a halt

We can search more UFC has been in a decline for a while and this is something that MMA fans as a whole have been discussing global viewership numbers for boxing if anything has increased dramatically and the opposite is clearly true for MMA.

Just because some drunk brawler or coked-up UFC star says boxing is in decline does not make it true the numbers show whilst boxing has declined slightly in the US it has grown dramatically globally.

Its not about them not fighting, its about the sheer variation required for MMA.

I'm training for my next fight and, in the six days that I train, I can only dedicate so many to striking. Of the three days that I have, I have to dedicate one to sparring, another to pure boxing and then another for Muay Thai/kickboxing. And that still ends up with one of the three bases (standup, grappling, ground) suffering. For me its been the lattermost, I've not progressed from being a blue belt BJJ.

Boxing is different, a standard boxer will dedicate one day for sparring, another for pad/bagwork, another for conditioning/drills and then others for footwork. This means the gap between competent punching between a boxer and MMA becomes rather wide. Many successful MMA fighters have their base in freestyle wrestling/BJJ, they're not going to drop their strong suit to spend the years required to build up a solid standup base, doing so.
