I'm also a fan of both too. I've been watching boxing since a child in the early 80s and it's the worst it's ever been right now with the multiple titles and damn near 20 weight classes. I know when I'm watching a UFC every month, you're gonna see 3 TOP fights each card. And when I say "top", i mean the champion fighting the top contender in the division or 2 top contenders. We get maybe 4 or 5 of those fights total a year in boxing. I'm a bigger boxing fan than a UFC fan, but here we have the #1 mw in the world(GGG) with a plan to fight another hopeless victim in 8 months A godddamn worthless fight that is scheduled 8 months from now. And then there is 135 in which Tank obviously doesn't want to fight anyone so he jumps to different weight classes cherry picking, Garcia doesn't want any problems with Haney, and Lopez is comfortable fighting mandatories.. One thing I love about the UFC model is that the champions don't get choose their opponents. You're not gonna see a champion fighting a guy ranked #16 in his division because he's a mandatory for a sanctioning body. That's what I respect about it and all of us boxing fans should as well. The only people that like boxing's current model are those that don't want to see their favorite fighters beat and are happy to d*kride the protection these guys are under by their promoters. I pretty much dislike over 95% of boxers over the weight of 130 cuz these mfers don't want to fight each other.

Once again to be fair, The average fighter ranked in the top 30 beats any MMA champion at their weight in a boxing ring, but also the top boxer in each weight class loses any UFC/BELLATOR fighter in the top 10 of their weight. Unless you think Deontay Wilder would beat Daniel Cormier in an octagon. And if you believe that, you're smoking high grade crack.

Its an interesting fight but also one that could end up being boring again if Usman uses the actual smart strategy and just wrestles for the decision. If he tries to be aggressive and actually look for the finish he may well get caught in the process.


I have Usman as p4p no1 right now, hes probably the closest of any active fighter to entering that Jones/GSP/Fedor/Anderson ATG level if he stays on this path.

It's PATHETIC that the top guys at 135 (the most stacked division) are not fighting each other. You have 5 fighters (Haney, Garcia, Lopez, Loma, Davis) and they could fight each other in any combination you can think of and they would ALL be good fights.... You could fill an entire year with top fights with just those fighters from ONE division and it would be an exciting boxing year...Yet we boxing fans get jack sh**t yet again.... There are literally no good fights on the horizon right now as it stands.... Unless Manny actually fights Crawford... there is quite literally NOTHING.... Canelo has no real competition and he's supposed to be the main draw in boxing... I like Canelo as a fighter, he's made huge improvements, but I can't get excited for his fights...

Of course, you get a lot more high caliber fights in the UFC... But the UFC to me is less dazzling than boxing... In boxing, they just tease with the prospect of all these fights, and they never come to fruition.

Unman looks vulnerable in exchanges. I've thought this for a while now. I agree Unman needs to wrestle and fight to his strengths. He's talked about how he wasn't satisfied with his last performance and wants a statement win.

for example, if you look at the HW division and only look at the pbc, a year ago they had these guys

Wilder, Ruiz, Joyce, Ajagba, Yoka, Ortiz
now we've seen ortiz vs wilder, so take that out. You make all those guys fight each other, 2 fights a yr.
There's a combination of 15 fights there ffs.

so what did al haymon the POS do? he wasnt going to push joyce, so joyce ends up focusing on the uk and going back to queensbury. ajagba and yoka join top rank.
top rank arent doing anything with ajagba and yoka, but they now have Fury, Ajagba, Yoka, Takam, Rivas and Anderson.
there are guys like Hunter and Usyk floating around without any real reprentation now. Hrgovic is with Wasserman boxing now and won't probably even be on Matchroom cards in future because wasserman are going to be matchroom competition.

For the next 3-4 yrs if each promotion just dealt in-house we could still get amazing fights. Eddie even has Jalolov now.


So it isnt just about 'top 3' but just giving fans THE fights. I'm tired of watching all the gimme fights too, but ill allow it for prospects.

Maybe at the end of all the in-house fights you then have a cross tournie with the top tier guys and the low tier guys between themselves (undercard fights).

This could easily be done in every division.
