Been watching boxing since the early 80s in elementary school. Saturday fights on NBC, ABC wide world of sports, etc.. But this era of 10 champions per weight class is getting crazy. There is a UFC card tomorrow night with THREE TOP FIGHTS. The one I'm most interested in seeing is Thug Rose vs Zhang because it's really pick 'em fight. That's the good thing about UFC is that you don't have too many champions with fighting going in facing hand picked challengers with no chance in hell of winning. We're boxing fans. Boxing was like this somewhat when our parents were kids until Don King and Arum ****ed everything up. There was always corruption in boxing, but now it's just at an all time high. I basically had to break it down to some basketball fans who casually watch and don't know more about the sport. I told them:

Imagine if the Clippers, Lakers, Bucks, Nets, and 76ers were all champions in the NBA and they had a chance to choose their opponents, but neither team ever played the Heat, Nuggets, or Suns because they were too good and dangerous. The 5 championship teams all took turns beating up on the Kings, Hornets, and Magic and we never got to see the Clippers , Lakers, or Nets play each other..
Exactly. Boxing actively works to ensure the biggest possible fights DONT happen, its ****ing insane. And most of the potential stars dont get as big as they could because they spend 99% of their careers in underwhelming low profile fights building up their undefeated record for the eventual cash out fight, and since having that 0 has been established as so important by the promoters it means a single loss completely tanks a fighters stock, potentially permanently, which obviously perpetuates the cycle.

Boxing is run like **** when it comes to giving the fans what they actually want. We all know this, its freely admitted most of the time. But if you say it in the context of boxing vs MMA people get defensive and start making excuses for why its 2021 and we still havent seen AJ/Fury, Spence/Crawford etc.

And you convince yourself that by pretending that nobody outside of America uses Youtube, Facebook, IG, Twitter, Reddit or forums.

You're from the UK right? why does BT Sports have a preview show for this weekends UFC thats currently at 82k views in the last 3 days? thats more than what most of their boxing related vids get.

That one country is where the majority of Youtube views come from the sport is only popular in one country it's watched predominantly by middle-class white men who are rapidly becoming a minority in America and will fade out as their numbers dwindle. Boxing is liek a religion amongst Latin audiences and they will soon be the Majority in America. MMA will nto survive as a mainstream sport. You are mentally unstable and have spent ages responding to someone who is trolling you and looks at MMA as a joke because you have the mental ability of a pencil.

Your low level of intelligence and clear mental health problems, you have repeatedly ignored links that prove a pint and used your own experiences as some sort of evidence you are clearly a strange incel type.

Now you hide behind "i was trolling all along" lol. No champ, you were totally serious.

Navarette/Diaz press conference is live on Youtube right now, 115 people watching, where are all the Latinos at? all the middle class American white men will be tuning into the UFC 261 press conference in a few hours thats for sure.

Cash/Bentley press conference has 2.5k views on BT Sports YT, thats a British boxing match and a British YT channel. Where are the Brits?

The upcoming Spanish card with two of Spains best talents Martin and Lejarraga has 685 views on IFL. Where are the Spaniards?

Meanwhile on aformentioned BRITISH YT channel BT Sport a video of three BRITS previewing this weekends UFC has 82k views.

Are all the American middle class white men following BT Sport now?

I was totally serious at no point did I say I wasn't I was trolling you with the truth, you dunce.

Navarette/ Diaz is a small fight with a tiny fanbase finding one fight that doesn't draw doesn't support your point and you still continue to use youtube as some metric of success Streetfights on Youtube also have huge amounts of views so the **** what? does that mean backyard fighting is bigger than MMA lol you are really a deluded mentally deficient dunce aren't you?

I use PPV buys, YT and social media numbers across various platforms that show a very consistent pattern time and time again. You use stories of how many viewers an individual fight allegedly got on traditional tv (a dying medium) in some random country once. Now **** I wonder which of those two is the more reliable way of gauging popularity? why would an allegedly far more popular global sport (according to your hard to track metrics like international tv viewers) never have that reflected in ANY easily trackable online numbers?

You also still havent explained why British YT channel BT Sport is getting good numbers for UFC content? or why the UFCs Russian, Brazillian and Spanish language channels do good numbers? or why the UFC is touring the world constantly? or why it has a globally released video game from a major publisher? None of this fits your claim that MMA is only popular in America does it?

If Streetbeefs was doing 40+ shows a year to crowds of 10k+, touring the world, putting out 12-13 PPVs a year breaking a million buys fairly frequently at a $70 price point, had a EA published video game, was on tv and their fighters had large social media followings, this comparison might make sense.
