I'll be supporting Shields and all African American boxers unconditionally from now on and drop all the white boxers I'm a fan of. Racism has always been real in the world, no need to hide it, no reason to cry about it. Even BoxingScene allows it now. See that 'takeover' guy and him calling Davis a 'Negro.' There are more on here if you pay attention.

Claressa Shields, yet another racebaiter? Or just racist?

I'm sure some black fighters use race as motivation.
The drive to get a little payback for centuries of oppression and discrimination is understandable, isn't it?

You are correct, racism has always been real in the world, nobody denies that. As long as you can accept rasicm can come from every angle. Hope your not one of these "black ppl can't be racist" morons.

See it from her POV. She gets racist messages on twitter, Facebook etc. from people wanting her to lose for years. Now Marshall comes along and all those people hop on her hype train. It does feel to me like some people on here have had issues with Shields, posting 'she's a ****** thug' 50x but now we're supposed to believe that they are unbiased boxing experts who see something in Marshall that means she can beat a fighter that has been more successful than her at 2 Olympics and as a professional.
I like Marshall and dislike Shields. But seems clear they are building Marshall up as 'the one to beat Shields' rather than her doing her own thing in her own way. It's a different era so it's not a 'great white hope' situation exactly, but at least some of the interest in this fight comes from the sort of people who call Shields 'sheboon' hoping they've finally found someone who can beat her.
