Canelo is Franchise champ at MW not SMW.

Yildrim was his mandatory st SMW. Canelo holds WBA, WBC and Ring at SMW and hopes to add WBO with Saunders fight. If he wins that, the only remaining puzzle piece for undisputed is Plant's IBF belt.

No doubt the wriggly WBC will make Canelo franchise at SMW at some point and then WBC mandatories will not be an issue for him. But it hasn't happened yet.

I'd agree with that. There is a hierarchy of attention getting things used to hype fights & get mofos coming to/watching a fight.

I'd suggest it looks something like this:

      1)Names first & foremost
2)High level KO artists (hold belt or heavily hyped contender who's KOing mfers left n right)
3)Novelty Fighters (I'd average this out at about 3rd cuz it is highly dependent on the person so could be higher or lower say if its Mike Tyson or Jake Paul for example)
      4)Superior Champions (unified/undisputed)
      5)Undefeated title holders
6)Lower level KO artists (Berlanga type guys who are unproven, but fun watches)
      7)title holders

I'd argue if you got two guys who are on this list then the appearance of a competitive fight hypes things up a lil more to fans. And I'm sure I'm missing a thing or several or you could argue something might be a notch higher or lower & I wouldn't likely argue against that, but I think this is a nice peek of what sells to casuals & even to hardcores for the most part when they aren't too hipster-ish or boxing snobs about things.

Don’t make the facts easy to represent. Otherwise you’re just blabbing general information. Both Floyd and Canelo fought difficult competition.
And you miss the point, expected from a pole smoker like you. If you're the man, the hardware has no value. Obviously Canelo ain't the man or he wouldn't have chosen the fight Yildrim. If he were the man, Canelo would refuse to fight such a bad opponent.

If your the boss as the ball gagger Thuglife Nelo claims Canelo is, the hardware means nothing. All this mandatory garbage is all bu!!shyte, Canelo choosing to fight Yildrim is borderline criminal.

Feels like when I'm playing some made-up game with my 5 year old kid... He always has to explain the rules to me since he's making them up and changing them as the game goes along too.

Again, the HNIC don't cower to the alphabet boys. Everyone in the industry is critical of Canelo for fighting an opponent as poor as Yildrim.

Nah. The whole NSB staff, ESPN crew, PBC team, all know Canelo represents the best thing in boxing because he’s the HNIC! 2 months stay busy fight after Smith to keep the hardware is as its said in ancient times, “Canelo is the HNIC!”

That's some man crush you got going on. Did you put on your pink leotards before jerking it to your favorite sweaty Canelo poster? Someone mentions Canelo and your ears turn into pistol grips, Vaseline squirts out of your nose and back go those retractable garage door teeth of yours.

You fa cking idiot, the HNIC don't cower to the alphabet boys. For Canelo to fight Yildrim when there's a shyte ton of quality fighters from 147 to 175 wanting a fight is an example of the lack of heart Canelo has.

The whole boxing world is very critical of Canelo for fighting Yildrim, you should be too.

The franchise belt was made because Canelo didn't want to fight Charlo, who was his mandatory. And because Loma didn't want to fight Haney, who was his mandatory. Team Canelo went to the WBC and asked them to make a special belt for him so that the fans wouldn't think he was ducking charlo, like if he'd been stripped completely and charlo awarded the belts than all the casual fans would have known it was an obvious duck.

When Loma found out about this, he did the same thing.
