  • Comments Thread For: Sulaiman Stands Firm on Creating "Franchise" Title, Explains The Concept

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman is still taking a tremendous amount of criticism for creating the "Franchise title" - which in turn had added further confusion in various weight divisions - because it creates a scenario where there are two or more WBC champions in a single weight division.

Franchise is garbage. a whole insecurity concept mainly benefitting Sulaiman for fees.

The reality is that Sulaiman has always known about DLH vs Haymon. If Sulaiman had a feeling that Haymon's world would attempt a purse bid with Canelo, like the way he advised Devry to fight GGG instead of Canelo, then we know the fat slob got scared that he wouldn't collect another Canelo fee since he would vacate. Sulaiman nor Canelo were never in a friendly position to begin with, so if Canelo vacated the WBC the fat slob would have to endure Mexican boxing criticism as to why Canelo has no interest in the green belt. He knew DLH and Bhop wouldve said ''fck Haymon and his purse bids. Jermall Stanklo aint funna get a split that's not from our control. Purse Mall has to accept what WE OFFER, not the other way around.'' - DLH

LDBC kids don't understand meritocracy. That's why stealing and thieving chips, blunts, and sprite from gas stations is common practice. Just ''take'' what you want and fck the world... ala purse bids against GBP.

      STFU Sulaiman.

You just make up the rules as you go along. All fans and media should ignore your Franchise Champion designation as well as your bridgerweight division.

Curious that Canelo fought WBC mandatory Avni Yildirum despite having the franchise champion designation in which he didn't have to. And yet he used the franchise status to duck WBC middleweight mandatory Jermall Charlo 2 years ago

''Curious'' and funny that fans assume that Loma, Canelo, Estrada, and Lopez' Franchise benefit meant that it empowers mandatories in other WBC division weight classes? that makes no sense. the Franchise status at Middleweight was not synonymous to 168 Super Middleweight, so the Yildirim mandatory had jack to do with French Fries! Unless you want to interpret it that Canelo agreed to void his 160 WBC ''Franchise status'' with the opportunity to fight Smith and promising to make the defense with Yildirim to please Haymon?! Boy....Canelo is the true definition of HNIC!

Why do Canelo haters never acknowledge Smith with chronological order pertaining to Yildirim? Canelo sent offers to Smith LONG ago in 2020. It was Smith who was fiddling with acceptance along with BJS for who got the Canelo fight. Obviously Hearn was a conflict of interest...nevertheless, Canelo haters never acknowledge that Canelo wanted to just stay busy, fighting Smith or Yildirim I doubt he cared. lol. the boxing gods knew that Smith was the CORRECT thing to do. Nobody focuses on Yildirim because Canelo made a promise to defend the WBC should he be granted the Smith fight... Yildirim, the Haymon fighter. I miss the LDBC kids saying Canelo be ducking Haymon fighters doe. Devry and Charlo both ducked Canelo offers. Charlo was never a formal or official mandate for a defense. it doesn't exist.

This is about the 4th time Sillyman has had to explain and defend his franchise belts. When you have to keep doing that then you must know in the back of your head that it is utter crap and nobody is swallowing the supposed theory behind it.

In a time where some of us can just about remember 1 champion per division, this clearly shows what these legal self serving racketeers are doing to continually dilute & destroy the sport of boxing we love.
In my eye's unless your undesputed your nothing but a wooden belt holder but mist casuals don't see it that way.
I keep hoping just 1 fighter 1 a-side would undespute & drop all the belts perhaps keeping the ring belt instead of paying these criminals 300k

Wouldn't; really work though would it? All that would lead to is power hungry promoters then picking up the pieces of those titles to then claim they have champions.
