Franchise Belt is a garbage conception that only benefits the WBC. !diotic that you can't win or loose it in the ring but they will give it to you and call you the champ. That will only be awarded to superstars that where the sanctioning fees will come in higher. Nobody is going to say "Hey that is the franchise champ?".

Got it. So it's a fake title, and cannot be used as a claim for undisputed. Hear that Teo?
          But...

Mauricio Sulaiman was recently on the AK and Barak Show and was asked to clarify who the actual champion is. Sulaiman stated that Lopez was indeed the champion and if you wanted to be considered the champion you would have to go through Teofimo.

He's a walking contradiction. In this article, he turns around and says, "The franchise champion reserves the right to fight the World champion in his weight class regardless of any other mandatory obligations."

If the Franchise belt supersedes the World belt, why in hell would the Franchise champ need to fight the guy below him?

**** like this contributes to the continued decline of the sport.

I think these boxing orgs have gone completely crazy. This is not the direction to go. We need LESS belts not more belts. As far as I'm concerned Boxing has been destroyed beyond repair. They've turned this former sport into a crock of poop. I feel sorry for the boxers and the fans. But not the obvious greedy promoters and boxing orgs. They couldn't muck it up more.

All he said is it's a made up title and they're still making it up as they go along.

****ing useless.....can't wait until there's five ****ing champions in the division the WBC alone rules over.

WBC Bridgerweight Franchise, World, Interim, Silver, and Emeritus Champions coming soon.

He can't be allowed to get away with this contemptible bullshlt. It is a fake thing. An empty thing. No one shoudl acknowledge it as a belt or as having any relevance as to who is the WBC champion.

If the WBC want to have something akin to putting a figher in their own hall of fame, fine, but there should only be one champ per organisation at the max. By definition there is only one best. The WBC cannot say they have two best in a weight class.

They are appealing to people like "omg did you know Fury wore dumbells under his gloves for his last ten fights? What a cheater. Mike Tyson is P4P #1 of all time, and I will argue that to the death regardless of the fact that I've never heard of any of the fighters you claim are better."

and casuals will tune in for a title fight. They've basically made it so every card on every network on every weekend has at least one title fight.
You think casuals care about bs belts? Casuals don't even watch boxing outside of the main event that catches their interest once a month or every couple months. Plenty of casuals watch 1 or 2 fights a year or every other year ffs. Thats how sh^tty boxing is doing with casuals. All the casual fight fans are over watching the UFC events with big names once a month nowadays. Thats where I see casuals at if you follow twitter & other SM platforms on Saturdays. I don't think the average casual fight fan even understands how boxing works anymore, fook man I don't understand how all these belts work anymore or how boxing works outside the ring & quit caring like the casuals did long before I did. I suspect I'll turn into a casual boxing fan in another 5-10 years if boxing doesn't change. Sh^t is wack with how the whole infrastructure of the sport works.

Yeah man, they 100% care about belts, because they don't know how garbage things are. They just think a belt means its the best guy in the world. They don't know that ****ing everyone has a belt that they won vacant in a fight between the #6 and #9 guys in one of sixteen divisions. Even older fans, like my dad who stopped watching years ago will ask "is it a title fight?" when he visits and I want to watch a fight with him. He has no idea that there are FOUR bodies now, and each body has 2-7 champs. Think of a guy like Yarde who had an undefeated record fighting plumbers until he got a title shot against the fourth best light heavyweight.
