So what are you trying to say exactly? He DID get to the top through hard work.

Many greats weren't physically gifted. Mike Macallum didn't have extra speed or power did he?

Hopkins is not the greatest example of extremely hard work paying off. Did he work extremely hard? Yes, but he had great physical tools to help him out. There are plenty of boxers who weren't physically gifted and had to put in work to achieve success.

Like I stated earlier I have always compared Bernard Hopkins to batman. It is stated that batman has a plan and solution to defeat all members of the justice league members 'Just in case they all rogue'. There was a point in Bernard Hopkins he projected the aura, that given the ample amount of to prepare? He could find a way to beat any fighter on the planet. I have never really seen this type of reputation or aura appear in any other combat athlete, maybe only Muhammad Ali.

I would imagine Bernard Hopkins studies fighters now, and devises plans and strategies on how to beat them. I don't check up Hopkins so much 'But he is most likely still living by his ascetic tenants and training to certain extent'.

It always makes me laugh when people act like Roy Jones Jr just woke up one day this amazing fighter without any work going into it. It is well known he trained like an absolute monster, probably harder than Hopkins. His dad used to torture him.

Roy Jones Junior had super elite level athleticism as well as supreme boxing skills.

Does it not take great technically ability to throw 6-8 left hooks in a row 'Is anyone doing that now at elite level' ? To in a instant process spatial information of the distance between yourself and a moving target, then land on that target before it can even react and decode what on earth is going on? Roy Jones could do all of that, there was not a punch in the book what Roy Jones had trouble throwing i.e Deontay Wilder struggles to fight on the inside or throw straight punches.

There does seem to be a trend in boxing to devalue the genius of some black fighters, and claim it is just down to their physicality.
