When you say that Chad has a better offense, what do you base that off of? I admit he is a versatile fighter with a good punch arsenal. But the thing that he is lacking is the ability to fight three minutes of every round. That is something that Cloud has and he is not a one-trick pony himself. He mixes up his punches really well. And I think Chad's defense is a little bit better too. But it's not like he is a Bernard Hopkins or Floyd Mayweather in that department either. He gets hit plenty. The question is would Cloud be able to get inside on him to do it and would Chad keep him at bay and use the things that work to his favor?
lol Cloud was able to look great against a punching bag like Woods with a limited offense and a limited defense who is there to be it. Yeah Dawson's defense isn't the best, and he sometimes drops his hands, but he isn't there to be hit. Dawson will be hitting Cloud with sharp jabs, hooks, uppercuts, etc, while moving. As for his stamina, it's up and down. He just needs to be more consistent. You need to watch his fights against Harding and Adamek because he was fighting 36 minutes for 12 rounds, it all depends how Dawson trains. When he gets a good camp, he looks great, he has a bad training camp, he doesn't look like himself (against Glen Johnson he switched over to a new trainer).

Cloud was gassed by about round 9. A better fighter would have taken advantage of that. Good thing for him Woods was already beaten by then. No, I don't think he would beat Dawson. I think Chad has more power and speed and much better defense. Cloud isn't a huge puncher, but he throws a lot and places his punches well in combination. But he's too open most of the time and Chad would take advantage of that all night.
Interesting you would say that since he nearly KO'd Woods in the 10th and had arguably his most dominating round. Cloud threw over 1100 punches throughout the fight, he obviously had the stamina to do so. He may have played it smart in the final two rounds but he wasn't gassed.

I think if the fight happens Dawson will outbox Cloud for large portions of the fight. I however think somewhere either in the middle or late rounds Dawson will get caught with a big punch. You have to remember that Adamek is tough, but he is a lot more one-dimensional than Cloud. I think that Cloud would have a better ability to put the finishing touches on Chad if he got him hurt.

Cloud's power is overrated, he couldn't even knock out a half-dead Julio Gonzalez, before that his list of knockouts were against bums that Dawson could of knocked out. Oh Adamek>>>>>>Cloud, the only thing Cloud has is a better offensive arsenal, other than that Adamek beats Cloud on everything else, even defense.

i would bet $500 that cloud stops dawson, best believe that. the first bomb cloud lands dawson is out of there..i would actually give dawson more of a chance of beating bernard hopkins(my all time fav. fighter) based on styles. but plain and simple dawson would be in SERIOUS trouble with cloud. cloud isnt some slow, plodding brawler, i know his defense didnt look up to par in the woods fight but i honestly believe that was from the full year layoff because against gonzalez which was his last fight and was in august of 08 he looked unstoppable and gonzalez could barely land anything on cloud at all(i know gonzalez isnt as good as woods but there not to far apart in overrall skill, gonzalez has a win over glen johnson) but on the other hand i would give johnson more of a chance to beat cloud because i noticed if you stand your ground with cloud he has more problems but if you try to use the ring to your advantage it doesnt work, the only "boxer" i think would beat cloud at the moment is bernard hopkins who has a good chin and is one of the best defensive-counter punchers in the sport..dawson is highly skilled but he is chinny and loses focus in his fights. cloud catches dawson with a counter left hook that puts him on ***** street and cloud gets him out of there around the 9th round.
