I heard he's down to Bridgerweight.

Andy chased AJ half way across Saudi Arabia. Even at 280, he ran AJ all night and wasn't winded. AJ trained for a marathon, got a track and feild sized ring, a fookin purpose built arena, and he still needed every inch.Comment

Its more nuanced than that. I will be the first to admit that Ruiz' conduct after beating Joshua was horrid, including his treatement of his mentor/trainer, lack of focus, etc. But he is a young guy with no tools to deal with sudden success. Lottery winners 9/10 have a similar trajectory. You have next to nothing one day and incredible material wealth the next... your friends, your family, society treats you different. You have power you never had... and there is no Uncle, no family member to mentor you.
With that said, Ruiz never had problems with cardio in his fights. He is a big boy and comes in naturally with some size. He never had a problem with this until his training habits changed, so in a fundamental sense, the weight was a by product of the problem. A boxer fighting succesfully at a high weight, is not a problem if he is confortable at that weight, and can adjust when he is between fights, and retires. Sumo wrestlers have a similar process of shedding when they retire. Andy can have a career fighting at any weight he is comfortable at, provided he takes responsibility for self discipline and does not go off the reservation between fights. Guy is IMO very talented and could be a legit threat at the right weight for any fighter not named Tyson Fury.
I agree he has talent, I agree going off the rails after becoming champ isn't a story we haven't heard before and I agree he never had a problem with cardio in the past. But he has just said he went up to 310lbs and has lost 40lbs. In that specific context, I am saying in the future he needs to be careful not to repeat this cycle.Comment

Agreed... You definitely can get depressed after losing and eating yourself like he does, to comfort yourself... With the sort of payday he earned in those two fights you can definitely lose your head.Comment

I 100% believe he will be in good shape for this fight. I think he will perform amazing. No sarcasm, I really believe it.
How he will look in the next 3-4 fights after that? Now, there is the riddle wrapped in the mystery.Comment
