Grade a fighter day 30: What grade do you give Joe Calzaghe?

Vote accordingly. These votes, rankings and threads will all be mailed to the fighters addresses in a giant sized neon colored envelope and they will see these votes and rankings. If you would like to give a reasoning for your vote, leave a comment as I am sure they would love to read it. After a sizable amount of rankings how been determined, everything will be mailed out to the fighters and they will have an opportunity to respond to their grades and rankings by replying to email address I will provide them with. If they decide to leave a message, I will post it for everyone to see.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    * Votes above = All votes above their majority grade totaled up

*Overall grade = Majority grade percentage + all percentage votes above majority grade totaled.

Rankings are determined by adding the fighters majority grade percentage + all vote percentages above their majority grade.

    HOW THE RANKING SYSTEM WORKS.

Lets take Lomachenko as an example. 44.64% voted him an A which is his majority grade.

23.21% voted him above an A so his total is 67.85%

A fighters majority grade does NOT change. Whatever the fighters majority grade is showing after the poll closes will be the class he is permanently in. A fighter in the B class CANNOT outrank an A fighter even if his percentage total is higher. He can only outrank other fighters in his class and below. Never above.

Majority Grade A+ Class All Time Great

Ranked #1 Roy Jones Jr. 92.00% A+ votes
Ranked #2 Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. 63.16% A+ votes

This is a tough one. The man was unbeaten, and at one time? He did separate himself from the pack, with his performance against Jeff Lacy. For me A + fighters have abnormal abilities somewhere in their artillery, they have great wins or even just great performances even during a loss.

I will have to grade Joe Calzaghe at Grade A +, his endurance was abnormal compared to most of the fighters you see today. There is no way Alvarez would be playing about in the super-middle weight divisions during the late 90's or early 2000's, Alvarez does not beat Joe Calzaghe.

Joe Calzaghe whenever he was questioned inside of the ring, always answered 'There and then first time'.

I think his win vs Chris Eubank Senior was also underrated, even at that stage of his career? Eubank Senior would of beaten all of these super-middles in today's era 'Far too strong psychically, awkward and had punching power'.

        Joe Calzaghe grade: A +.

Hated the way he feasted on old man Jones & an ugly fight w Hopkins but no denying him respect. Undefeated career. Undefeated champion. Kessler & Lacy were good wins. Had great hands even if he did slap his shots a bit much. Can’t complain about Joe. A.

You know what..... I can't really argue about giving him an A+.

                Well deserved.

Calzaghe could not KO Canelo and judges would give the fight to Canelo.
