I do like Ortiz brings a great deal of pressure and he has pop in his punches but at this level you can’t punch hard with every shot and you need throw away shots at times but it will make for an interesting fight to see how Ortiz rebound after a loss.
Part of the marking up has to do with skin tone but I get your point.

Get real, kid beat ex 140 champ. he should beat somebody like Josesito Lopez or Jamal James before moving on.
I’m not sure if Keith Thurman is all that interested in boxing anymore, or if his body will even hold up at this point. Also, I imagine he would use the “who has he fought” excuse to justify not taking the fight.

Jamal James would be an intriguing matchup but Josesito Lopez represents a lateral move at best from Maurice Hooker.

Win or lose he would learn a lot from a Bud fight, just like Canelo learnt a lot from the Mayweather fight. Ortiz just has to use his head a bit more when he fights someone like Bud.
I completely agree.....Ortiz style won't carry over for very long....he takes too many shots...hooker hit him with a TON of punches....I do respect that this kid has enough common sense to know Terence Crawford is a whole other animal....however I do not believe he's sound enough defensively to avoid getting hurt.

Ortiz is just not on that level, decent puncher but that's it, he should stay away from Crawford.

we should be praising this young man and complimenting his attitude, not been rude and disrespectful. ESPECIALLY when we haven’t achieved a 3rd he has in this sports.

I also think Ortiz will make much more of a fight of it then you assume, Besides from Spence, Crawford and maybe pac, I wouldn’t put a single other welterweight as favourite over Ortiz Jr. I guess I’m just really struggling to understand your reasoning and wether You’re a hardcore boxing fan or if you’ve just come here to troll. Enjoy the rest of you’re day sir.
I also applaud Ortiz’ attitude and it’s funny how you simply cannot please some people.

If a fighter takes his time developing and padding his record like Edgar Berlanga then they say he’s a hype job.

If a fighter beats a former champion (yes Hooker moved up but still) and then says he would love an opportunity to face the best then they still say he’s a hype job.

My question is which one is it?

Ready not ready is just good talk for social media, let's make it happen and see how it goes, win or loose Ortiz will be better because of it, he's a live dog.
the strap he had saturday was the WBA gold, which has nothing to do with the WBO. Rather Bud vs Crawford as its the best one possible for either of those 2. Ortiz vs Ugas is a good fight and since Ortiz has the WBA GOLD, he'd get a direct shot at Ugas, if he wanted..

But what's wrong with "daring to be great" like Teo and Mikey?

I believe Ortiz is a tougher out for Mr. Crawford than some of you do.
I dont have a problem with hit. I just think Ortiz needs a few more fights vs 147 guys.

Used to be this kind of aggressive young fighter was not uncommon. Sometimes they would win that first challenge up, sometimes not. Now people are acting like it's a crazy idea but not crazy at all to be fcking around for 10 years or so just protecting that "0".

I see Crawford stopping Ortiz late in the fight or winning a UD.
