Most fights at the top level go the distance anyways. That's why stoppage wins with the elites is always so impressive. I agree that this would likely go 12 rounds.

Ortiz really is THAT dude all around, rooting for him to have big success the rest of his career.

Sad to say, but Vergil might be the best fighter Bud has faced at 147! However, all I can see is how easily Hooker was landing that jab, sometimes two-piece dinners! Hooker can't switch stances, no shoulder roll, and no power! Bud is just too much right now! Oscar should call Pacquiao b4 Mikey signs the contract! I just read that this kid Yeleussinov is a Southpaw! He's part of Hearn's stable. 10-0, w/ 6KOs, 30 years old, 5'10", and a 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist from Kazakhstan! Maybe that's a better test than Hooker, without going straight to Crawford? Both on DAZN is a plus!

Crawford would beat the brakes off of this Ortiz hype job and most of y'all know it; that's where the built-in excuses are coming from.

One second, "Ortiz isn't quite ready for Crawford" but in the same breath, those same people are trying to bring up the Gamboa and Mean Machine moments and secretly give Ortiz credit for beating a Hooker that most of them wrote off after the Ramirez loss.

        You people are insane! Lol
No post here seems to correspond to what you wrote, in truth. Most everybody agreed that Crawford would defeat Ortiz, others posted only good wishes or positive comments on Vergil's attitude outside the ring.

I don't think there's anybody here who thought Hooker could have won that fight, or who exalted Ortiz for beating him. If anything, Ortiz just seemed not to care about being hit by him. He would not be smart in doing the same against Bud.

OK, just did my homework! Was looking for a strong southpaw fighter with good skills, for Vergil to fight, b4 he makes a giant leap to Bud Crawford, and low and behold, I found one, and he fights on DAZN! Daniyar Yeleussinov fits the bill! 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist! 5'10", 10-0 w/ 6 KOs, and he's a 30-yr. grown man! Much thicker than Mo' Hooker! I think this is the man Vergil should fight next! MAN UP!

Rule #1: Speak for yourself. Tell me where you're coming from, that's all I need to know.

My point is, they're trying to find somebody to "beat" Crawford (because they're mad about him not entertaining a Spence fight) without him actually stepping in the ring with him. We can't exalt Ortiz's power and say he's going to beat x. y, and z, but say he needs an X amount of fights before facing Crawford and/or Spence.

Now we're hearing more whispers of the Mean Machine "knockdown" and people are even bringing Gamboa into this when they said he was a "blown up Featherweight" back then. Basically, "if those guys can do that to Crawford, then "imagine" what Ortiz's power could do", is the new thing now.

I'm not buying it and I'm calling it out when I see it.

Terrence Crawford needs a credible opponent and Vergil Ortiz Jr. fits the bill for me. I would favor Bud to win but Ortiz would bring it.

No problem with that. You've been much clearer here than in your preceding post. Analysis and context are always OK with me, no need to act tough.

I get what many of you think you see, but after watching Hooker who shoots punches wide and at times telegraphed was able to hit Ortiz at ease and marked him up pretty bad as well. Crawford is on a whole different level, for real! The shots Ortiz was able to land on Hooker will and I repeat never hit Crawford clean like that. I do like Ortiz brings a great deal of pressure and he has pop in his punches but at this level you can’t punch hard with every shot and you need throw away shots at times but it will make for an interesting fight to see how Ortiz rebound after a loss.

Make it happen, at least someone good that's willing to fight Crawford. I really don't think Spence is keen to fight Crawford.

Son, all top 147 guys beat you really bad. You are not ready at all. Move on fighting other gatekeepers.
