  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: I'm Pretty Sure That I'll Be Working With Canelo Once Again

Oscar De La Hoya hopes there is a point when his company can promote Canelo Alvarez again. The Mexican icon's former promoter praised Alvarez, who parted ways with De La Hoya's company early in November, during a recent appearance on "The Ak & Barak Show." While respectful of Alvarez's new partnership with rival promoter Eddie Hearn, "The Golden Boy" expressed confidence that the four-division champion will want to work with him in the future.

Yes, it definitely looks that way. I thought Canelo was fed up with both Golden Boy and DAZN and was taking his bat and ball and going home. However, he decided to stay at DAZN after all. He ain't going nowhere.

Sounds like a scored ex saying, I know they miss me and once they realize that they can’t live without me, they’ll come back. Not very likely.

Canelo stayed with DLH even after he went to rehab the week of the Mayweather fight, Canelo is loyal and put up with a lot of garbage from Oscar.

He's never coming back, if anything he's going to take Ryan Garcia with him.

De La Hoya doesn't have any top super middleweight on his books, unless I'm mistaken. Anyway, I think Oscar was a better boxer than Canelo is, except with Canelo's chin being even better, and body punches

I'm assuming he thinks Zurdo Ramirez, who he just signed, has a good chance of matching up with Canelo...I don't see it tho.

"It makes me happy that they’re gonna be working long-term."

                NARRATOR'S VOICE-OVER: But he wasn't happy.
