Are GGG and Erislandy Lara better opponents than anyone else fought today? Yes. My point was that this doesn't actually help his resume because the majority of the boxing public doesn't think he actually beat them.

Point 4 was that he avoided the best competition that wanted to fight him and earned the right to fight him. Point 5 is that while he has fought better competition than other guys in the sport, he did not beat them convincingly. Which doesn't help your resume.

It's not ridiculous at all. Other fighters in the sport work for promoters and networks. Canelo works for himself. Whenever a Canelo Alvarez fight that we want to see doesn't get made, it's because of him and only him.

you could run a list of 7-8 names you want to see him fight right now....and when he doesnt fight 3 of them consecutively youll whine about it....cause your a fickle fgt.....thats not how the sport works these days.....he isnt going to fight who you want him to when you want him to...just like the golovkin fights when he was working for a promoter and a network...he still didnt fight guys exactly when most people wanted him to...and hes never going to....get over it and accept it.........floyd didnt fight everyone the fans always wanted him to fight when they wanted and hes considered the best of the last 25 years by most....get over it

We've all wanted to see him fight Demetrius Andrade and the Charlo brothers for almost seven years now. He still won't make those fights. What gives? There's no excuse. They deserved that fight less than than Khan, Smith, Kirkland, JCC Jr., Yildirim, Fat Kovalev, Fielding? Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? In his last 13 fights, 7 were opponents that absolutely nobody wanted to see. And stop it with the Yildirim was mandated bull****, we already have the proof that it was Canelo who told the WBC to order that fight. That on its own is enough of a reason not to like Canelo, who does **** like that?

its called the long game....stop being so narrow minded........get canelo exposure on floyd undercards....build relationship with haymon....get canelo the floyd fight...and boom...career takes off with exposure.....yes canelo would have become a star without it likely....but it helped immensely and accelerated it...i know it pains some to give schaeffer or haymon credit for ANYTHING....building the relationship with the guy that built floyds career was a smart move and if oscar hadnt ruined everything it could have probably continued

schaeffer knew canelo wasnt beating floyd...so why put canelo in a fight he couldnt win? because he knew what it meant....it was obvious

What stars has Haymon created?

You're acting as if Showtime is the only network that gives exposure to up and coming stars.
All networks and other platforms do it. It's nothing unique. Canelo was the one giving them favours
not the other way around. Alvarez owe nothing to Haymon, Schaefer, Hoya, etc. None. Nada. Zero.

He was first introduced on HBO and that already did it.

Canelo Alvarez is a star today because fans like what they see when he fights.
No network or promoter can build a boring fighter. The fighter is his main promoter.

andrade, who is from my home state and ive known since he was a kid, is still fighting euro champ level comp in his 30s and doesnt have a single good name on it...his best win is sulecki...good win but nobody even really knows who he is.....

the charlo fight is one that can and will still happen(provided charlo doesnt get knocked off)...youre one of those guys that thinks every two guys need to fight when you want to see it...and they should...it doesnt always make business sense for both guys....charlo prob isnt looking at that fight in the same way you are...hes looking at it when its worth 20 mil or so to him....not friggin 8 years ago when its worth about 2.5.......you probably out here thinking garcia/haney should fight today...or teo/haney should happen today.....lol....these guys are trying to maximize the value in those fights...not fight each other for short money or when only one of them his a household name.......you have a lot to learn about how the fighters and managers think.....

At least the fighter I support doesn't get corrupt scorecards. At least the fighter I support never failed a drug test. At least the fighter I support never avoided his mandatories or any fighter who was calling him out (I still believe the Spence and Porter fights will get made). At least the fighter I support doesn't use rehydration clauses and stipulations. At least the fighter I support doesnt avoid rematches when he has controversial wins. Actually, none of his wins are controversial, but still.

Who is lining up to fight Andrade? You act like it's his fault. He's tried for Canelo, won't get it. He even walked into the ring and in a nice way explained why he deserved a fight with GGG. GGG still won't give it to him. Billy Joe Saunders he was signed to fight, but Saunders dropped out with a drug test. As much as I like the Charlo brothers, I don't think they're in a rush to fight this guy.

I do think these fights should happen today because I'm a fan of boxing. The fans win when the best always fight the best. You damn right I want Teo to fight Haney today. Why wouldn't you want to see this fight??
