I don't get the crying for this fight. Canelo is a top fighter and he is expected to fight the top guys. He just beat supposedly the top 168 fighter easy and is going to face his mandatory in a quick turn around in this era of boxing.

I give him a pass on this fight as long as he faces someone of note yet. The problem is no matter who it is at 168 they are going to criticize him. Now Plant is unproven and Saunders has not fought anybody of late. If it is Andre he is another one that has not beaten a top fighter. Naysayers will say go up to 175 hoping he loses.

With great power comes great responsibility. And Canelo is a bad mfer with bigger hurdles to clear than most.

With these big name, big draw guys my expectation, & most casuals who probably have tighter rules than me, is always the same. Fight a top 3 opponent or it's likely to be considered a bs fight like it or not. And despite Callum being #1 at 168 there were better opponents to fight.

Name who was a better opponent?(I don't expect a response from you or anyone else,because the alternative will surely be someone who ducked or who was far less dangerous or just a ****** career move)

If that’s the expectation then it should be for all Champions at all times with no exceptions. However, today it’s unlikely and not going to happen. That’s why I’m reserved to not calling out any boxer because if it isn’t universal across all then it shouldn’t be for anyone.
