Canelo says he doesn't care but anyone with a brain knows he's gets bothered by getting no credit and rightfully so. Why? Because the dude legit does it to himself. I don't feel sorry for him.

Oh, I'm not a real middleweight but will brag that he's the lineal 160lb champ after beating Cotto at 155lbs while consistently walking into the ring over 170lbs.

Then proceeds to fight for almost 3 years avoiding his mandatory GGG proclaiming after every fight that he's willing to fight GGG now and he'll lace up despite dropping the belt.

Then when he does fight GGG he receives a gift decision, gets busted for PEDs, and then goes on to win a controversial decision. "GGG was easy. Im over GGG. I dong need him."

But when GGG is a ripe 39 and showing consistent decline, oh, now I want to fight GGG again.

This even extends to Smith. Oh, I don't want to lose any of my 35 million to make this fight, but now that he looked piss poor against John Ryder im finally ready to make this fight and fight for considerably less.

Canelo is nothing more than a snake.

If he was like most of these guys and only fighting once or twice a year then yeah it would be a bad pick. But he’s trying to fight 4-5 times in 12 months and unify a division. This fight is just a stepping stone in that journey. He’ll fight in May, September, and probably December again.
He does that he’s looking at another fighter of the year campaign.

Canelo is facing a mandatory for the first time in his entire career after dropping multiple titles instead of facing past mandatories and the guy is a 50-1 underdog. The belief that Smith was #1 at 168 was really just a matter of the super 6 tournament from years ago as the reality is Smith got worked over by Ryder and clearly wouldn’t have beaten several other boxers in or around that weight class. So of course some fans aren’t going to be happy. By that same token, his fans wouldn’t give a damn if canelo gave Amir khan a rematch, they’d still find a way to justify it the way they do everything else.

The Super Six tournament wasn’t years ago, it was in 2018. The Super Six that Andre Ward won was “years ago” and having a difficult night doesn’t make Callum Smith a bum. If Canelo fights Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant in unification fights for May and September then I have no problem with a tuneup/mandatory in February

Eh. I would like to think Canelo knows that fans can be disinterested in a fight that's unappealing just cuz it's a bs fight without not being appreciative of him &/or his overall career.

And sh^t to most of us that last fight was a bs fight too so this isn't a serious fight, bs fight strategy in play. This is back to back bs fights, regardless of the ABC reasons this specific fight is happening.

And yet most folks thought it a bs fight. UK fans seemed to lean more that it wasn't a bs fight & I get it from the angle of Callum's position, but I think the odds & fight itself tell the story than us debating it.

Most folks have never stepped foot in a ring. Last year people were saying that Canelo would never fight Callum because he was too big for him. Even after the Ryder fight. Just because the betting odds were in Canelo's favor, and that he dominated Callum, that's not his fault either. He challenges himself more than any other boxer right now and that's facts.

He could fight anyone, smoke them and someone will always be there with the Neloexcuse squad calling it a BS fight. Forget that in his last fight most called his opposition the top opponent in the division, forget the fact that he is lining up three champions out of his next 4 fights.
