They are similar, it is the toppings, and the distinct sauces that sets them apart. Shawarmas are better though, since they have better sauces, like something called humus, its made out of ground sesame seed and other ingredients, and garlic sauce.

First time I had one was a few years ago when I went to Dubai. But yes. One is a shawarma plate, the other is a sandwitch. The plate usually cost much more though, and comes with rice, salad, steamed/grilled vegtables, along with everything that would make up the sandwitch in larger amounds, only without the bread.

Ha ha, my ****** Bully droppin the knowledge. I seen it served as a plate dish also, tho I never bothered to eat it that way. I've always ordered that **** to go.

well pelmeni are smaller and only with meat in it. but they are both similar. and russian. pelmeni can also be fried then they are deliscious and can be served with anything..

I'd be hard pressed to find Russian eateries around my part of town. But it sounds good homey. Looks like it goes down as a snack or a meal just dependin on quantity. I usually eat perogies wit a salad.
