Taking two of the crudest fighters of their era = not a great example.

I could just as easily point out to a Ricardo Mayorga or a... Martin Rogan.

Compare it to Wlad-Ibragimov and its a great fight between two guys willing to take a chance to win. I'd much rather watch that than 2 guys scared to take a chance.

Jordan is an exception to the rule, maybe Bruce Lee too.

Jordan >>>> NBA, past, present, future

You forgot to mention the advancement in track conditions, sneakers and of course performance enhancing drugs.

You can't possibly compare Jesse Owens to Usain Bolt. Just look at the shoes and the track he is running on:

In boxing on the other hand there have been no great changes in the past century (aside from the 15 round limit being changed to 12 rounds). It has always been about two men and their fists.

Exactly. In football most guys are on the juice and pads have gotten lighter. In baseball fields are smaller and the balls are made to be hit farther. Hockey, lighter pads, better skates. Skiing has aerodynamic clothing and better skis. Swimming has suits that are proven to make you sw3im faster. Boxing has bsicly the same conditions, yet not as brutal.

every single sports in every sing positions, the greatest players have always come in modern times.

otto graham, bart star, johnny unitas,< joe montana, john elway, payton, brady

                      bird,magic,mj,hakeem, shaq,kobe,lebron>mikan,russell,wilt,cousy,west

gary player, arnold palmer, sam snead jack nicklaus < tiger woods

jesse owens..... carl lewis.........< usain bolt

but the only sport that seems immune to this is boxing. Nostalgia & oldschool bias seems to guard & makes 20s,30s,50s,60s boxers immune to evolution & are hence rendered immortal & invincible.

Ive seen henry armstrong fights, pacquiao & a dozen other fighters from the 80s & up would box circles around & eventually destroy him.
