Why can't the promoters offer Ruiz some "step aside" money and have him face the winner of Valuev/Haye?

damn this could be really bad news for haye.

i can understand where ruiz is coming from hes earned the right to compete with the best and is more proven than haye, but the boxing fan in me wants him to take a step aside and face someone else. maybe if chambers, toney or tony thompson are lookng for a fight he could take them on.

i really hope haye vs valuev happens, we've had too many postponements recently.

Incompetent and corrupt. Ruiz should not hold a number 1 ranking.

Very good, this is the first smart move i have ever heard of Ruiz making. Good for Ruiz if he ruins the Haye vs Valuev fight. I will wait a few days for the official word before i start celebrating. This would be good for boxing, allowing the Haye fight is very, very bad for boxing.

It's be more incompetent and more corrupt for them to spurn their own #1 contender for an unranked and unproven challenger.

I am 100% on Ruiz's side in this matter. Ruiz is a better fighter than Haye, he would beat Haye and he has earned his shot. If I were Ruiz I would not step aside so that some loud mouth **** like Haye can have the fight.

Considering Haye's complete lack of respect for the sport nobody can trust that he will do what he says he will do. Haye could very well win the bout and then have to rematch Valuev before Ruiz would get his shot, Ruiz would be an idiot to agree to that. Haye will also most likely get some small back injury that would prevent him from defending the WBA belt for a minimum of 8 months.

Thing is this.... Whether Valuev fights Ruiz or Haye the purses and splits will probably be identical.

That means to pay Ruiz to step aside they would have to give him a cut approaching 33% of the total purse bid.

Essentially they would be paying Ruiz as much as they were making (maybe more than Haye would as challenger) themselves for him to sit at home and watch. Considering this fight is not very lucrative I can't see anybody making million dollar concessions.

Before i read this article i was gonna blame Haye lol. But he needs to step in an try to get this fight underway. Why doesn't he promise Ruiz a fight after he wins the title?

Ruiz would be an idiot to trust David Haye when he says he will fight them next.

Haye backs out of 2 fights for everyone he goes through with.
