In my life, I never had the experience to have a family member assassinated. I know one of the 10 commandment was not to kill, but we have to understand that in many of the preach by Jesus he made clear that we have to obey and follow all the rules and laws from every government. It’s very easy to say just put those scumbags in prison when the wife lost her husband, when the mother and father lost their son and now all of his kid will stop calling him daddy
, because he is not longer alive to responds to their beautiful children. Vernon Forrest was an example to every where he represented; he was in the wrong time and wrong place when the incident happened. Probably if he is alive and you ask him what to do? He will say “Let’s call the police and let me get out of here” But the problem was he went after the guy which stolen him and forgot could be more people around. God bless the Forrest family hoping he is resting in peace.

you can't be further from the truth
the FIRST thing the police does to someone they're arresting is to read the rights they're entitled to: "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense."
after you're arrested AND convicted:
607-A:3 Rights Retained by Convicted Person. – Except as otherwise provided by this chapter or by the constitution, a person convicted of a crime does not suffer civil death or corruption of blood or sustain loss of civil rights or forfeiture of estate or property, but retains all of his rights, political, personal, civil, and otherwise, including the right to hold public office or employment, to vote, to hold, receive, and transfer property, to enter into contracts, to sue and be sued, and to hold offices of private trust in accordance with law.
