For the worst current referee in the world, I'd put it as a toss-up between Cole and Luis Pabon.

As soon as Pabon (the WBA's no. 1 guy) is announced as the referee, you know there is going to be some dodgy **** happening.
Klitschko-Povetkin & Allakhverdiev-Guzman were two of the worst refereed bouts in recent memory.
Only Cole comes close...

Cole gave one of the worst reffing jobs you will ever see in the Salido/Lomachenko fight. He had no control whatsoever of what was happening in the ring.

Smoger or Bayless woulda said something about the low blows, no doubt.

They would have at least attempted to establish some set of rules to govern the fight by. Cole didn't even try. Just "whatever, do what you want and I'll interrupt every so often so you don't forget I'm here."
