I predicted exactly how Pac will beat hatton & DLH. And I'm predicting this Cotto fight will be another Dominant Fashion.
PBF will have a hard time with JMM. JMM has the chance to win here.
Fair enough I think most would disagree with you putting Manny at 3rd ATG and jmm being tougher for floyd than cotto will be for pac but if you're that good at predictions maybe ur right.. let the best man win
And you forgot that Pac started as Pro at age 16. When PBF was 16, he's losing to the likes of Martin castillo & some other Russian. And that was with protective headgear. When PBF was 19, he's still fighting bums. Pac was already a Lineal Champ at age 19.
Pac has HOF bound mAB, EM, JMM, DLH in his resume. PBF has only DLH. PBF has Great skills but he never Challenge himself. While Pac is keep on Challenging himself & Fighting the best available Fighters like Cotto, PBf was busy dodging the Greatest Threat. How Come Pac will be fighting Cotto while PBF will waste time with Pac Victim JMM?
Only the Floyd **** suckers will think that PBF was Greater than Pac.
case and point!
game set and match!
you hit the nail right on the head and put it to bed,
so he might as well take his ass out of this thread
so you got him after srr and possibly ahead of ali or armstrong and def ahead of joe louis and pep?
You got it right!!! In the old days Fighters fought every 2 weeks or 12 times a year. That was a different era. They need to fight more to make money. With the TV mOney on today's era, fighter's make more money with less fights.
But I look at it like this. If Pac was on that 40-50s era, he'll accumulate Hundreds of KO wins also. If SRR was on today's era, he'll be fighting only 2-3 times a year only. But Pac also Sparred with some of the Best upcomers today. And they do it like Real fights at the wildcard Gym. You can easily add Valero, Linares, Vasquez, Khan, Ortiz, etc to Pac's resume. Some of these Guys will be in the top 10 P4P after Pac retires, and we've seen some of those sparring & it shows how Pac dominates them.
I already seen Pep, SRR & Armstrong many times in youtube. I've seen SRL. Hearns & Duran in live TV in the 80s. I've watched watch them all fights in youtube back to back & side by side. Then I watched Pac Great fights & I always came with the conclusion that Pac can beat all these Greats.
TS, if you want to judge who the better fighter is on technical boxing ability then sure Floyd. But the buck stops there. ATG lists are not made up of the best technical boxers, if it were you would have guys such as PBF, B-HOP, Whitaker, Pepp etc much higher. Furthermore you wan't to judge these two when theyre age 16 when Pac was a pro, and floyd had 6 losses in the amateurs? Floyd was groomed to fight from the get go. Manny was not. Over the last 10 years which fighter has evolved more? Life ain't about being perfect, it's about improving. Judging them both by the same standards Pac done the following:
1. Won more lineal titles than Mayweather
2. Won more world titles than Mayweather.
3. Became a world champion the same time as floyd, considering floyds retirements he's been a world champion longer.
4. Pac's career has spanned more weight classes.
5. Pac has fought in more weight classes.
6. Pac has won 6 world titles in 6 different weight classes.
7. If Pac beats Cotto, he will have his 3rd fighter of the year award which would be more than pbf & a record and 7 titles in 7 weight classes
8. Ring magazine named Pac fighter of the decade for the 2000s.
9. Pac's resume/overall body of work is better than Floyds (refer to any number of previous polls done on here.
10. Pac caters to the fans a lot more than pbf does in that he consistently looks to challenge himself and take the toughest fights.
Now the above are just in the ring, outside the ring:
1. Pac's story is amazing. Something hollywood couldnt even dream of. Can you name a better rags to riches story? As good maybe, but better? No way.
2. Pac was rated in forbes top 100 most influential people in the world.
3. The man has his face on a stamp in the phillipines.
4. The crime rate in Manilla drops to near 0 only during his fights.
5. A civil war seizes fire for 24 hours during his fights.
6. In 6 years since the Barrera fight he has climbe to the top, defied odds & taken over boxing the old fashioned way.
7. He's got a nike commercial with Kobe Bryant coming out next month.
8. He's got former presidents wanting to see him.
9. Future president of his country.
10. A symbol of hope for 100,000,000 people around the globe.
11. He can barely speak english but he's made boxing hot again, something floyd has never and will never do.
If there was an argument about them inside the ring, there isn't anymore when you consider them outside the ring.
Despite all the above, floyd is a better technical boxer. Pac is a better fighter. As Thomas Hauser said, boxing is a skill, fighting is the spirit in which you display that skill. Pac represents the best of boxing. Pac is a higher ATG at this time.
You summed up your problem when you started barking about Pac's losses. Nobody is perfect. That's ignorance at it's best. Human nature will appreciate a man who takes risks and faces the jaws of defeat over a man that stays outside that radius. For these reasons Pac is the greatest fighter on the planet.
If you look carefully at the ATG list you'll see the common denominator are the losses.
Its close imo, but I have Manny ahead by a little. You can't take away Floyds dominate wins over Genaro Hernadez who only lost to Hoya and an undefeated Corrales away from him. Plus wins over Manfredy, Castillo 2x, Jesus Chavez (if it counts for Morales, then Floyd should get credit), Gatti, Ndou, Zab, Baldo (was the lineal champ) were important. If Pac gets credit for beating Hoya and Hatton. Then Floyd should get his credit. If he would have got the Mosley fight and won, that would be a hell of a resume.
But as I said I give Pac the edge. His accomplishments and the way he won against elites were special.
this thread has been overrun with *******s and floyd haters. listen i dislike floyd as well but to act like he is not a great boxer with amazing skills is ******. manny is an exciting fighter who has some great names on his resume but he is not on the same level of mayweather no matter how many fans he has or how much of an arrogant **** floyd is. if you were to give this same poll to boxing experts and boxers with no bias i guarantee your results would be different
