Why? Jones said 60-40 when both were at top and runnign their divisions. Now Roy is no where near the top, and Hopkins is still at the top. The least Hopkins would do is ask for 60-40 and everybody knows this. If Jones wa sin Hopkins possition he would be asking for 80-20 seeing that he was saying 60-40 when they both were at top, and refusing it when Hopkins is rated above him.
Roy would be a big money Tune Up for Dawson or Adamek

Naw what I ment was a win over Hop helped build up Joe to the point that they could push him into a PPV card. Roy already had a name but HBO only bites when they feel they gut across the ring may generate interest as well.Comment

Regardless of the similarity or disimilarity of the situation none of this constitutes a compelling reason for the deal not being possible. Their is no regulative or legal hindrance for the deal whatsoever. The only obstacle is Hopkins unwillingness. No, actually what you are saying is laughable. In no way was there a set amount for the winner and the loser in that fight. There was an amount each fighter would get off the bat, and the fighters agreed to a million bet to the winner. That has nothing to do with Roy's WWE like proposal.Comment

Roys REASON for wanting 60-40 was never because he was higher in the rankings than Bernard... it was ALWAYS "I already beat you once, you never beat me"... and its still the same reason. Why? Jones said 60-40 when both were at top and runnign their divisions. Now Roy is no where near the top, and Hopkins is still at the top. The least Hopkins would do is ask for 60-40 and everybody knows this. Vodka redbull... come on now you know me.
ROy is so shot... Bernard could literally step away from his tea and crumpets... whoop Roy... collect 8 million... not even break a sweat, and then go take a nap.
He wouldnt even need to train..... walk his dog around the block at most.Comment

Of course they knew who Hopkins was. Hopkins sold 330K against Tarver...Sold 420K against a contender in Taylor....305K vs WrightThat was proven by the PPV sales... they certainly didnt know Hopkins either.
WInky sold better... but not against TITO-Jones.
And you can say TIto has mor eto do with it and you are right... but the figures are STILL THERE.
Jones-Tito, Jones-Joe >>>> Nard Winky, Nard Pavlik.
The numbers are facts... this is still a business.
Hopkins vs Wright sold quite a bit more than Jones vs Calzaghe even though they did not have a 24/7.
Jones does not sell more than Hopkins.Comment
