marquez did more than enough to win this one..seriously pacquiao LITERALLY got an ass kicking round after round..this wasnt mosley/hoya 2 screwjob but anyone with their head on straight knows marquez got the shaft ONCE AGAIN

you will find JMM supporters can't score the fight or explain why. i bet 99% of this thread that say JMM won cannot clearly point out how they scored it or give a better answer than his **** was in their ass while watching the fight.

I know what you mean, many of them give at least one 10-8 round to JMM even though he failed to knock down Pac.

I know I am a bit late on this, but I wanted to see what the consensus was on this fight. Also, please note I am not a huge Pac fan. I like Pac and JMM about the same, both fun fighters with a good attitude. Anyway...

So, I just got around to watching the fight (shame, shame, I know.) for the first time. I always avoided it because I had already heard so much about it that I figured I had basically already seen it.

I had heard that many critics and fans believed JMM had been robbed of the decision and that JMM had beaten Pac. He was rated higher on the P4P list than Pac for a while there too, so apparently ring believed it too (for what its worth).

After watching the fight I was shocked. To me that wasn't even close. Pac clearly won a close fight. JMM did well, got shots in and looked technically sound, but Pac got the knockdown, got good shots in and looked technically sound.

In a fight where you are trading off rounds the person with the knockdown is going to win. If they had given JMM the decision that would have been a robbery, not the other way around.

Anyway, that's just my take, interested in hearing yours.

You have to realize that it's now popular to say JMM won. I'm not saying there aren't plenty of intelligent boxing fans who believe JMM won. However, on a boxing website dominated by here today gone tomorrow highschool seniors and college kids.. They all want to be on the popular side. Like I said, it's not at all a bad thing and I can see where it comse from to pick JMM the winner. However there are a lot of people who jumped on the "JMM won" bandwagon cause it's the "I know boxing better than you" angle. With that said I believe it was a very close fight. Also, they're respective styles appeal to completely different fans so you get very polar reactions to the fight. Someone who appreciates a brawler will frequently see Pac as a clear winner and someone who is more inclined to enjoy a technical/tight style will view JMM as a clear winner.
