Haha, Cotto sounds so smooth and confident when he says things. That's good for him. He's going to be very confident in the fight. But, he did say the exact same thing Diaz, Oscar, and Hatton said. That he's too big, and he'll have the physical advantage over Pacquiao. While I highly believe that moreso than ever with Cotto who is an absolute beast and it took forever for another beast to chop him down with cemented fists(Margarito), it would be a huge mistake for him to underestimate Manny's confidence in fighting a bigger man. Manny doesn't care and is used to it. If he let's Manny fight his own fight, Cotto could be in for a long night.

I also said that until Cotto himself decided to put the title on the line the fight was not going to be for the title even if he vacated and that in the meantime everything said about the belt is just pure rumors.

The information on this thread came from a video chat by primerahora.com and for the 1st time Cotto (himself) did say that the belt will be on the line so now for me it official.

I must admit that I'm dissapointed for him not to stick to his words and continue on of the battles that would had given him a title more important in life than the WW belt "Honor and Respect".

Although it was proven that the belt was not going to be on the line if Cotto vacated the title. After meeting with the Cotto's legal team the WBO had to convince Cotto (thru aruma and Pacquiao) to put the title on the line by buying him off and guess what Cotto had a price.

Cotto will now have a bigger % of the purse and and will also have more guaranteed money Arum raising his dolar value but throwing his "word" value to bankruptcy.

I give props to Pacquiao to renegotiate the % of the purse just to have a shot at the title (not that i'm in favor of it beeing on the line at 145 max), in part showing that money is not everything.

I guess Cotto won after all by probably getting what he wanted from day one of the Title issue, which was more money and I can't blame him for that but I must admit that I expected more.

Anyway this will be a great fight and I will expect and be cheering for Cotto to win but round one of the prefight was up for grabs until the last second when Pacquiao and Arum threw a left hook loaded with money to Cotto's chin and knocked him down. This 1st round was won by Pacquiao 10-8
this fight for cotto, even on day 1 is more all about how much he will earn rather than how he will be remembered if he defeats pacquiao. imo, this fight will weigh more on pacquiao, but not about his legacy or him making history by becoming the first boxer to win 7 championship belts in 7 different weight divisions. this one has more to do with pac's standing of wether he really is a great boxer or just a good boxer shaped by circumstances. with his past 3 fights viewed by many as no more than a boxing match where he can't absolutely given any credit due to the way he demolished his opponents or how his opponents fared against him. with the cotto fight, he will be given the chance to prove himself if he is worthy of greatness and to silence his critics, detractors and haters alike if he comes out victorious.

Not too long ago, Cott would be the favourite big time. But it has evened itself out now. Some so called experts think Pac will win now. Pac has had to achieve so much to get the experts on his side.
But some still think Cotton will do it. Should be interesting though.

does everybody agree with you?not everybody thinks the way you do. btw, in my previous post i said should pac comes out victorious against cotto, he will definitely legitimize his status as a great boxer and will silence his detractors.
