    funny!!!

pac is not really a legitimate WW. he has no business fighting WWs in the first place. the thing is, he is just the big draw in boxing right now and he can demand what weight his opponent can fight him just to make it a fair fight.

so if pac and his team thinks that a catch weight of 150lbs is a fair weight to fight a heavyweight, then so be it.

But the only difference is that Cotto is going to WIN no doubt, but at the end of the day let the best man win.

I also said that until Cotto himself decided to put the title on the line the fight was not going to be for the title even if he vacated and that in the meantime everything said about the belt is just pure rumors.

The information on this thread came from a video chat by primerahora.com and for the 1st time Cotto (himself) did say that the belt will be on the line so now for me it official.

I must admit that I'm dissapointed for him not to stick to his words and continue on of the battles that would had given him a title more important in life than the WW belt "Honor and Respect".

Although it was proven that the belt was not going to be on the line if Cotto vacated the title. After meeting with the Cotto's legal team the WBO had to convince Cotto (thru aruma and Pacquiao) to put the title on the line by buying him off and guess what Cotto had a price.

Cotto will now have a bigger % of the purse and and will also have more guaranteed money Arum raising his dolar value but throwing his "word" value to bankruptcy.

I give props to Pacquiao to renegotiate the % of the purse just to have a shot at the title (not that i'm in favor of it beeing on the line at 145 max), in part showing that money is not everything.

I guess Cotto won after all by probably getting what he wanted from day one of the Title issue, which was more money and I can't blame him for that but I must admit that I expected more.

Anyway this will be a great fight and I will expect and be cheering for Cotto to win but round one of the prefight was up for grabs until the last second when Pacquiao and Arum threw a left hook loaded with money to Cotto's chin and knocked him down. This 1st round was won by Pacquiao 10-8
I understand your point about Cotto, but he fights for money. Fighting is his career and when it is all said and done, they have to live for the rest of their lives with what they earned. Some take advantage, an invest in businesses. Look at Tyson, all his money was spent on nonsense and now he is broke, after so many millions earned. Look a Floyd, IRS about to wipe him of whatever he has left. You must understand, fighters fight for the millions of dollars they make, while risking their lives. Cotto's belt is on the line on this fight, if he loses, he loses the belt but the money is his. Again, fighters risk their lives for the money, not to please the fans. Yes, they want to give you a great fight, because if you enjoy the fight, most likely you will purchase the next event, meaning more money for the fighter. Boxing is a business, and it is not a long career, you have the rest of your life after retirement and you have to be smart about your earnings.

cotto saying...just like oscar and ricky before the fyt...."manny is too small for me".
why do they always fail to consider that midget manny has the power to knock out welterweight bulls like them?!!

LOL is that why he fought a weight drained Oscar at 147 two fights ago?

Cotto should have said... " he has to find someone else to get a welterweight title at a catchweight"... Not 147. that little prick pacquiao needs to sign these contracts at 147 if he wants a title.
