That's what I say either way, two professionals at the highest level luck is not involved in this. When Pac KOed Hatton wasn't luck, it was excellet strategy. When Cotto got cut against Clottey wasn't bad luck, it was Clottey big head and his history of leading with his head.

Cotto is talking more than usual about his opponent...
Anyways, cotto should be able to walk through all of pac's punches. If cotto can't KO a former 106 lber, he needs to quit boxing.Comment

When this all started Cotto didn't want to pay the sanctioning fees because he said that he was not to be mandated to put the WW title on the line for a 145 max fight. Then he accepted that even if the title was not to be on the line he would need to pa a fees as a current champion even if the title was not on the line and he had already accepted to do so, but still willing to vacate if the WBO insist on thier demands. Case that he practically won until more money and benefits were thrown at him.Remember this though, initially Cotto declined to put the title on the line because he did not want to pay the sanctioning fees. At the start of this whole thing it was about the money so it's not all that strange to see it end with money. He only started talking about things being right and fair after they tried to force him to put up the title,so of course he has got to say or do something in that situation. Anyway, Cotto got what he wanted in the first place and I can't see why anyone would fault him for that.Comment

You might be right but, Pacman might be surprised and people might be under estimating Cotto's hand speed, just like Mosley was.Comment

Luck will play a role in this fight, but you have to provoke it. At this level any mistake could change the rythm of the fight. But a lucky punch won't happen though. The guy who will impose the rythm will win.Comment

Believe me I wanted Cotto to stick to his guns too but at the end of the day I guess it just wasn't meant to be. It is what it is, I'm just grateful the fight is still ON.When this all started Cotto didn't want to pay the sanctioning fees because he said that he was not to be mandated to put the WW title on the line for a 145 max fight. Then he accepted that even if the title was not to be on the line he would need to pa a fees as a current champion even if the title was not on the line and he had already accepted to do so, but still willing to vacate if the WBO insist on thier demands. Asterisk?! For what, Cotto agreed with the stipulations and no rules where bent, and 145lbs is still within the WW weight limits, between 141lbs and 147lbs, so what rules where exactly bent. You're already making excuses for no reason, again, no excuses for both fighter. What it comes down to is Pac has the bigger name right now, and tried to make some rules that he felt would benefit him by fighting for a belt that normally is fought for at 147.
He felt it would be easier for him to "make history if he has the rules bent for him" and had the pull to basically pull it off.
Now as a Cotto fan I really don't care because in the end Pac is ******** with the wrong Puerto Rican and will not make history against Cotto.
But let's say he does...I say put an Asterisk in the record books under the weight he won in saying *the WBO rules were changed for this fight and this fight only*.

I totally agree with you, he should have stood his ground and not put the belt on the line. I also believe that his intentions were to get more money. He knew if he refuse to put the belt up for grabs, they would offer more money to get it. I believe his intentions were those in the first place. I also believe that if he put up the belt @ 145, he is confident that he could beat Manny.I agree with your statement but just don't come out and say that something is not right and fair and after they show you extra money he know thinks if right and fair (talking about Cotto obviously)???
if he would had come out and said i'll put the title on the line but there has to be more money or benefits i wouldn't be dissapointed becasue he would had been speaking the truth but this was not the case.

I think Pacquiao's speed is going to carry the day against Cotto. If Margarito could hit Cotto flush, you know Pacquiao will. It will be back to headlining Top Rank PPVs against Michael Jennings in an epic rematch for another vacant belt for Cotto.Comment
