Willie, be quiet. This is ******. Apart from any other contention that I have with your thesis, one less would not have ended Cotto's career.
Cotto got hit with a good shot and got a little dazed. He covered up well and backed away, which made it hard for Corley to finish him. Corley went to the body cuz he couldn't get to the head.
If Cotto has no chin how did he survive fights with Kelson Pinto, Randall Bailey and Carlos Maussa? They're all better punchers than Corley is, yet none of them managed to phaze Cotto even a little bit. And before you go saying that the reason Corley's knockout ratio is so much lower is because he fought better opposition, stop, because he hasn't. He's fought mostly second tier guys, and when he's really stepped up all the way, he's lost, same as the other fighters I mentioned.
Cotto hasn't got a weak chin, he got reckless. He also got surprised by a southpaw's punch. Note that there are not too many left handers on Cotto's record, and not too many right handers could have thrown the punch that hurt him. He got stunned, and came back and won the fight. Regardless of whether the ref stopped it early or not (and he did) that outcome was inevitable.
Finally, I'd like to say that being wobbled by one punch over the course of 110 total rounds does not mean he has a bad chin. It means he got wobbled only once despite taking hundreds and possibly thousands of punches. So who gives a rat's ass?
