Its a 10-9 for JMM. Even though Marquez landed more punches, Pacquiao was still the attacker and both were holding their grounds. Its not a domination were JMM was going forward and forcing Pac to bakcup or hurt the whole round.

For the record ; I don't think the reason people still discuss this fight has anything to do with having a vendetta against Pacquiao, or a vendetta against Marquez ; the fight was just that damn good, and that damn close.

We boxing fans tend to regularly discuss classic fights such as this one many years after the fact.

This fight always reminds me of just HOW BIG of a Pacman nutcleanser Larry Merchant really is.

He thought so certainly that Manny would come out blazing for the final round, that he made a claim of, "I have this fight even, 6 to 5, Manny getting an extra point for the knockdown. Whoever wins the final round wins the fight."

Then.. Marquez goes out and has his second best round of the fight, wins that round fairly clearly and Larry jst stumbles out of admitting that Manny should have lost the fight on his scorecard.

Been scored 10-8 for JMM?

It was a very one sided round, dominated from start to finish by JMM, and Pacquiao took a serious whipping there. Should it have been 10-8, because it was just as good as scoring a KD in a close round.

There's definitely a strong case to be made for it. Thats as dominated as I've ever seen Pac.

But what stuck out to me watching that fight again was round 6's scoring.

Round 6 was a very dominant round for JMM, not as much as 8, but very close and after the round HBO showed 2 of the 3 judges giving it to Pac.

Bizarre.

Go back and watch round 6 and see if there is any way Pac won that round.
