BTW ; anybody who picked Lacy to beat Roy suffers from a serious mental illness.

Me, Silencers, and quite a few other regulars were scratching our heads at why anybody was picking him.

Now it is what it is. Jeff is obviously past his prime but he is still Jeff Lacy....no one has ever done that to him before, not even Calzaghe...I dont care if a guy is "shot" he can still punch hard if thats what he does...Jeff's POWER didnt leave him...and Roy is much older anyway than Jeff is...has had a TON more fights and was stopped twice, one of them a VICIOUS KO...so he has a ton more miles on him than Jeff does...to look as good as he did last night, even if u hate him, that's impressive, man...
So what, RJJ's performance against Lacy will only get himself hurt in the future.

RJJ probably thinks he can again reign supreme at 175lbs., lol.

Hmm, wait a minute , he might actually pull it off, since his master, Calzaghe, is now out of the picture and I'm not really too familiar with 175 these days. I mean, it seems to me that 175 is full of old recycled stars, ie B-HOP, Glenn Johnson, yadda, yadda

I'm too busy watchin the lil guys these days, so much more fun.

Anyway ICE, who do you like in the PAC -Cotto. Just pick a fighter please, I know you're gonna present a case for both fighters on how it's winnable for either, but just make a d*mn pick, will ya, thanks SCULLY.

It's hard not to think that 'he's back' when he was doing things that we haven't seen from him since he was in his 20's.
Landing multi hooks slipping everything without even looking .
He just has scary talent when he's up to showing it.

I expected Jones to win one sidedly but not as one sidedly as he did so I was a little impressed, didn't expect a stoppage either. I think the proposed Danny Green fight should be an interesting one and will show if Jones has the legs to beat a B class fighter.

I mean no disrespect to Jeff at all but, He just wasn't that great to begin with. He's a good fighter but, I picked Joe to beat him and I'd only seen joe fight once before but, I knew he had what it took to beat him. It's a good win for RJJ because, he mentally and physically beat Jeff. Nobody has ever stopped Jeff before neither. He's been hurt before but, nowhere near the trouble he was in against Roy. I hate when people say Jeff is shot, a shot fighter would've been Ko'd by all the fighters I listed before. Jeff is still a decent fighter but, he seriously needs to re-evaluate himself and his career. He really can't be taking beatings like that.

When judging a fighter I tend to dismiss the hype surrounding him, such as the hype surrounding Lacy pre-Calzaghe.

I picked Calzaghe to beat him (although I never thought it would be that badly) based on the fact that everything I saw from Lacy going into it led me to believe he couldn't hang with a true "Elite" like Calzaghe.

He struggled with Sheika and went tooth and nail with Vanderpool.

I don't think that just because a person like myself considers Lacy to be a journeyman that that amounts to any kind of disrespect ; it's only my opinion on his ability to compete with the top tier.

I respect the hell out of anybody who does this for a living.

What is hopkins doing nowadays anyway? I hear he wants Adamek but, I'm also hearing he wants the winner or Dawson/Johnson. If Dawson wins, it's gonna be a tough but very winnable fight. If Johnson pulls of the upset against Chad, I see Bhop schooling Johnson and maybe stopping him in the same fashion he did back in the day.
The Adamek thing is long gone.

He lowballed Adamek witha $500,000 fee and expected that to get the negotiations ball rolling but instead the Adamek team blew him off and went elsewhere.

He's currently planning on fighting the winner of Dawson/Johnson which is most likely to be Dawson, given that Johnson has struggled somewhat as of late with lesser fighters than Dawson. And overall he's just not looked himself.

Against Dawson, it'll be tough for Hopkins. The toughest fight he's had since turning 40, IMO. naturally I'll support him and pick him to win, but not without fully realizing that beating Dawson is a challenge for any man ; including Hopkins.

Against Johnson I'd have no doubt in my mind Hopkins would easily UD. I don't think he'd TKO him like he did 10 years ago because he doesn't throw as much and he fights completely different now than he did back then. I think he'd be comfortable in putting on a boxing clinic and going to the cards.

I mean I expected Jones to win a UD, but I was still impressed with his performance.

Being impressed with RJJ last night, would've been like being impressed with De La Joto when he put a whuppin' on Mayorga.

To this day, many people on here think, such as The Bringer, that the DLH that ko'd Ricardo would've beaten PAC, lmao.

When did I ever say that?

I'd pick Manny over any version of Oscar post his Welterweight days.
