Epifanio Mendoza, Vitali Tsypko, Peter Manfredo Jr. , and Otis Griffin(the reality TV "star") all gave Lacy all he could handle and all these guys barely crack the top 10 in supermiddle.
Glad to see that you and Bully agree with me on this.

Lacy's never been anything other than a "name" to get on your W column.

No offense to Roy, or Calzaghe.

But when you really look past all the hype he once had, and you get down to the "brass tax" ; He's a clubfighter on his best day, even before Calzaghe beat the brakes off of his ass.

1.) A lot of people were claiming the win to mean something. You should've peepe all the people talking about Roy being "back" in here last night after the fight ended. I **** you not.

2.) I don't think you can honestly say nobody expected Roy to look that good. I saw quite a few people saying Roy was going to dominate him in the various threads about the fight prior to it happening. I was one of them.

I'm not ****ting on Roy whatsoever, I'm glad he got the win, I'm glad his fans are happy with the performance, and I'm glad he's one step closer to capturing another strap.

But this fight was a foregone conclusion before the first bell even rang.

Lacy was struggling with clubfighters like Sheika long before Calzaghe even son'd him.

And since then he's struggled with the likes of Tsypko, Mendoza, and Manfredo.

I don't give a **** how past prime Roy is (he's not "shot") ; any version of Jones can still dominate a guy like that.

Didn't need to ; had no intrest and I've grown weary of watching Jeff Lacy take punishment. I think he's going to end up in bad shape by the time his career is officially over.

I watched Luevano vs. Concepcion and then went to sleep.

the only excitement in that fight was luevano being put to sleep and Nady wrongfully DQing Concepcion. Nady really isn't that great of a ref no wonder why he doesn't do too many relevant fights anymore. I agree with both yall tho, Jones was supposed to win. But not in the fashion he did it in, he toyed with lacy. Even made Lacy and his corner quit. Nobody has ever done that to him, Lacy is not much different today than he was against Joe Calzaghe. People were saying that Lacy was gonna knock out Roy, Roy was gonna win but it wasn't gonna be easy, all this and that. I just hate how people take away from his win, saying Lacy is shot.

I regretted watching Luevano vs. Concepcion.

I'd been up all night the night before and was pretty tired but I wanted to see something boxing related ; so I went with the Luevano fight because I honestly can't watch Lacy any more.

I made a bad choice and I should've just gone to bed instead.

Nady is a disgrace to the sport, and has been for quite some time now.

I rank him right up there with Joe Cortez on the "mount rushmore" of piss poor referees.

As for the Jones fight ; I've yet to comment on the fight itself as I haven't seen it. I've just stuck with my original thoughts and my feelings on Lacy, as a fighter.

All praise to Roy though, I'm hoping he beats Green and maybe we get to see that Hopkins rematch if the two can come to terms.

But Hopkins has a hell of a test infront of him with the winner of Dawson/Johnson, so I'm not holding my breath.

It just amazes me how easily people can dismiss Jeff Lacy...I mean, it wasnt long ago Jeff was tearing through 168 and was favored to beat Joe C...and now people are saying RJ beating him doesnt mean anything, with the tone that says Jeff is just some guy of the street who was lucky to even have had a pro career...people dont even mean to do it sometimes I dont think but the level of dismissal and disrespect for professional fighters I listen to and read some times from boxing fans is kind of disturbing...

What is hopkins doing nowadays anyway? I hear he wants Adamek but, I'm also hearing he wants the winner or Dawson/Johnson. If Dawson wins, it's gonna be a tough but very winnable fight. If Johnson pulls of the upset against Chad, I see Bhop schooling Johnson and maybe stopping him in the same fashion he did back in the day.
