i need to spread the green k, though.

      i agree.....
manny will be testing cotto's power at the onset.
manny will be more agressive if he feels he can take cotto's power.
we will know this in the first 3 rounds.....
i hope manny and freddie can adjust if they are in the disadvantage as regards to power.
...like pot shotting cotto and win on points....
      Thanks for your words.

I agree with you on our post and even redlined a key word adjust.
This will be a fight on which both fighters will have to adjust during the fight and probably more than once. Pacquiao is a good student and has a great trainer and even though Cotto doesn't have that advantage he has adjusted in the past to all sorts of oponents and stlyes but will be he able to do so just because of his extense amatuer background and endless battles is yet to be seen. Huge advantage to Pacquiao on the corners issue.

      • That may not be a bad idea. Calderon is slippery and has good footwork.

That's why i have always said that the key for Cotto will be his Jab to try and stop Pacquiao and his constant offense and then work on his attack.

Remember that Cotto's stiff, quick and strong jab will be something that Pacquiao has never seen in his carreer. A jab that has knocked down stronger, heavier and bigger oponents than Pacquiao and it is not a hard punch to land specially when Pacman initiate his attack.
that jab is the first thing that freddie and manny will work on.
they will have to lessen, if not take that jab away from miguel.
clottey got kd from cotto's left job.

i am counting that cotto will be awkward and open, chasing manny or in trying to cut manny off.
manny can deliver his 3-4 ryt left combos to cotto's head.
and remember....cotto will most likely get cut!!
he won't win this time,...manny will finish him when manny sees blood.
              ...very unlike clottey!!

In order to connect the combos he must be at Cotto's Jab reach and that will neutralize his combinations because it will be throwing Pacman out of rythm.

If they do manage to have a stategy to take away his jab then Cotto will be in trouble we will only know after the fight.

i don't think it that way....
manny will be on the side of miguel when he throws those combos.
manny will spin miguel like a wayward spinning top.
manny's lateral and in-out quick movements will frustrate cotto...i hope!
cotto will have to solve the "geometrical nightmare" that is manny.
have you encountered plane geometry and spherical trigonometry in college mathematics??
i don't think cotto does....he will have no answer to that puzzle!!
