Better than most people acknowledge. Lacy was ****ing people out in those days and Calzaghe may have even been the underdog, I don't remember. But That was a very impressive win for Calzaghe.

the knock out is a great thing, but who you knock out is important too.

I think he was always a B level fighter. Not good enough to be an elite but pretty good. People got excited about his power/physique cause it reminded them of a Super middleweight mike tyson

You have to remember he was still a young developing fighter. For where he was at that point in his career he was very impressive, but he got overrated because of the style and weakness of the division. People associated Calzaghe's reign with how bad super middleweight was and when Lacy started beating all those people he was put on Calzaghe's level. He may have turned out to be much better if Calzaghe had not destroyed every ounce of confidence Lacy had.

It really might have been better for Lacy if Calzaghe had KO power and had taken him out within 8 rounds instead of spending 12 rounds showing him just how much better he was.

People were comparing him to Tyson, worst then when they compared Zab Judah to Whitaker or maybe not.

True, but Lacy was looking impressive. People get carried away with calling all of his opponents "bums" because he did fight some solid fighters. It not like he was beating all unranked boxers. It's easy to say that after the fact.
