    [sarcasm]

Surely fights against Sosa, N'dou, Corley, Bruseles, Gatti and Mitchell already place him as the best ever #1.

6 terrific challenges in succession, who can ever top that.

robinson topped that, he had a streak of extremly weak fighters in a row.

          Barry,

You are a smart guy. And smart people are open-minded. You have to accept change.

I'm not saying for you to love Floyd or anyone else. But you have to be open to the possibility of a "next greatest" coming along. In fact, it is good for the sport. What does it say about our beloved sport when the best practitioners were 40 and 50 years ago??

          Tiger is replacing Nicklaus.

Bonds or ARod is replacing Ruth

Jeff Gordon and Tony Stweart are replacing Earnhardt and Petty.

Growth and change are good. It is the way of the universe. the laws of nature.

Well, to be fair, we have Sugar Ray Leonard on the Mount Rushmore of boxing , and he was 3-1 against the top HOF guys of his time.

Floyd is currently 3-0 against his best opposition, WITH MORE WORK TO BE DONE. Let's be open-minded and enjoy the ride. Let's see where he takes us.

IN MY MIND, if he beats 2 of the three "young lions" (Hatton, Cotto, and Margarito) and then knocks off one of the "old guard" (ODLH or Mosley), then that is enough for me to put him on my shortlist.

That would be more than Leonard did. ODLH is 1-4 against Tito/Vargas/Mosley/Hopkins. ODLH is a first ballot guy, right?

I love what i've seen so far in the ring from PBF. He is coming up on 29. He has three years to lock it down. Lightweights/Welterweights generally fade after 33.

Greatness Breeds Contempt. When Pbf Kills Zab, You'll Say: Well Zab Was An Overrated Bum Or He Wasn't Concentrating. When He Fights And Crushes Hatton: Well He Wasn't All That. All He Ever Fought Was Kostya Tszyu And He Was Overrated. When He Finally Annihilates Margarito: Well, Who The Hell Was Antonio Margarito? He Never Fought Nobody. When He Stops Dlh: Well, He Wasn't In His Prime. Haters Are Never Happy. This Is Merely A Sign Of The Times. From Reality Tv To Ashley Simpson, We Applaud Mediocrity And Question Excellence, Even Curse It. Gatti Fights "d" Level Competition And Makes Hoards Of Cash To Do So, By Hbo: Well He's A Warrior. Roy Jones Pounces On Clinton Woods(who's Been Dominate In Wins Since The Jones Loss), Julio Gonzalez(who Beat Mr. Darius "i Can't Leave Germany To Fight" Mikalsheski Sorry), Eric Harmom(who Beat Antonio Tarver And Broke His Jaw In The Process) Bernard Hopkins(you Know Him) James Toney(who Is Still Viable And Was Boxing's Baddest Man Next To Tyson In His Heyday At 168), Then Wba Heavyweight Champ John Ruiz (a Feet That Hadn't Been Done In Over 100 Years) And Antonio Tarver(yes Jones Won That First Fight And Showed Tremendous Heart In Doing So): Well He Hasn't Done Enough. He's Stealing From Hbo. Let's Resurrect Joe Louis And See How He Does Against Him.

I Assure You This Is The Same Tired Ass Broken Record Of The Hater (and Even I Have Been Enchanted By It's Seductive Tune). The Same Thing Was Said About Ali, Pre Exile. Liston 2 Was A Fix, Cleveland Williams Was Shot, Floyd Patterson Was Too Old, Ernie Terrell Was Too Tough For Him To Ko. Henry Cooper Was Stopped Prematurely. It Just Goes On And On And On. I Live For The Day When We Can Appreciate True Genius When We Have It. For Goodness Sakes, None Of Us Had The Luxury Of Seeing A Primed Ray Robinson. But, Thanks To Technology We Get To Witness Genius At Work. And Anytime You Have The Opportunity To Witness Genius, Take It And Most Of All Appreciate It. Don't Sit Back Trying To Second Guess Obvious Greatness, Because It Is Obvious.

If he were to beat Gatti, Tsyzu and Cotto in a two year period i would put him as the pound for pound best in the world. If he then beat Judah and DE LA HOYA ( hear this out ) and dominated for 5 years at welterweight and never lost, then maybe....one could rank him as one of the greatest ever.
yes i agree we need time to see if he can stay at this level. And if he can get up from a lost.

For me Floyd Is one of the best in this era, but he lacks a few things to be consider the greatest. For example: He should be dominant in the welterweight division (beat Cotto or Marg. , Williams, Mosley,Cintron). He needs to prove that he can overcome adversity. He have to be more exciting because beside the Hatton fight he could be boring. He have hands problems, and he doesn't seem to be back.
